This film is yet another milestone the career of Mahesh Babu has witnessed. With this film, he confirmed that he has a unique style of his own while acting. His fights are quite different from those of other heroes. One can call them Mahesh Babu brand. And his dialogue delivery is quite well modulated and as effective as his fight scenes are.

Even if a hero is not worth his salt, most of the Telugu films succeed these days mainly due to two factors. First and foremost, the acting prowess of, and the entertainment provided by, the comedians. And then the second contributory factor is the support of the character actors and villains.

Telugu film industry has a bunch of talented comedians and they are more in number than that of the rest of the film industry including Bollywood. Because of their talented show in several movies only, the crowds are pulled to the cinema theatres and each TV channel these days carries a programme or two everyday on film comedy.

After Bahubali, Srimanthudu has succeeded in eliminating the comedy line in the movie and still fared well at the box-office. While it is Mahesh Babu, the hero all the way, from beginning to the end, the support provided by heroine, Shruti Hasan, the character actors, Rajendra Prasad, Jagapathi Babu, Sukanya et al and the villains Mukesh Rishi, Sampath Raj and Harish Uthaman are no less immense. We can call it a total team effort and the credit should go to the director, Koratala Siva. The story-line too is not a rare one, but still gripping.

The music scores are a bit disappointing. The film would have become terser and sharper had a couple of song and dance sequences were done away with. That way, the duration of the film, which is a little bit more than the optimum, could have been shortened.

May be, Srimanthudu had to withstand the onslaught of Bahubali which is also running in the theatres concurrently, but still, it could net good revenues in its three weeks of showing in the state, country and abroad. And that shows that the film has something in it which keeps one glued to one's seat in the theatre.

Though there is nothing great about the movie, it keeps one engaged throughout. One can enjoy the movie in the cinema hall, if no Mahesh Babu fans are there around. Or else, one has to watch the movie among high decibel shouts and cheers of the hero’s fans, which will rob the sheen away from the film to a considerable extent.
