Sprite, not my number one choice for a carbonated beverage.
Actually, I'd rather not drink any carbonated drinks at all, but if I had to it would be either Coke or Dr. Pepper.
When you compare Sprite to it's alter ego 7UP, you get a surprising difference. While Sprite is a little more carbonated, 7Up has much more of a lemon/lime taste.
Sprite has just a hint of the citrus taste that it claims to be bursting with. In my opinion, not really enough of a taste to be called a citrus drink at all. And if you don't drink it icy cold, it takes on sort of a medicine like flavor.
It's 140 calories, with all the calories coming from sugar. It also contains natural and artificial flavors, artificial flavor enhancers, potassium benzoate, citric acid and a slew of other ingredients I'd rather do without.
Like I stated, when I feel like having a carbonated (calorie ridden) drink, I'd much prefer Coke or Dr. Pepper. At least with those two, you can taste something..With Sprite you taste carbonated water with just a hint of citrus.
And, don't get me started on Diet Sprite....What a horrendous aftertaste!
So, like I said, 140 calories, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 0 protein, a lot of sodium...give me a Coke or Dr. P instead.
(By the way, I do drink 10 glasses of water every single day! So the occasional Coke or Dr. P really doesn't hurt.)
