I work there and I thought I would help the customers who are not so happy about Sprint/Nextel.
1. We are still going through a merge of two completely different companies with two completely different kinds of towers. You are experiencing network issues for a reason, and this is because the merge is still in effect. So, the network may have some issues while this is happening. In the end, we will still have the best coverage.
2. Keep in mind, this is a "wireless" type of communication. Cell phones have to go through walls, cement, and anything else prohibiting a clear connection. So yes, you will
have better coverage in your driveway, because there is not a boundary to work through. If you are experiencing a problem all of a sudden, there may be a problem with your tower close by. Don't be
shy to report these issues by calling technical support through *2 (Customer Service). They will send out a trouble ticket to make sure the tower is working as it should.
3. If you experience dropped calls and in a widely used Sprint area: set your Settings, , go to Roaming, set to Sprint Only. This will help with dropped calls as your phone is constantly looking for the strongest signal. This will ultimately help you with your dropped calls as well as battery power.
I am a college student at the moment, and I believe in Sprint as being
the #1 wireless provider. There still are a few kinks, but
eventually we will be back where we need to be, so please bear with us.
