After reading all the terrible reviews Sprint PCS earned, I decided to add a few comments of my own.

I chose Sprint based on the recommendation of my girlfriend's sister, who had nothing but positive experiences with the company. Nationwide Long Distance was the staple of Sprint's service at the time, while the other companies were not yet offering it as a standard feature.

My first year with Sprint was nothing but a positive experience. I had occasional problems with dropped calls and poor reception, but who doesn't? I have friends with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and just about every other cell phone provider and they all experience problems similar to mine. Unfortunately, none of these companies provide service as reliable as traditional phone service. They all have a lot of room for improvement, Sprint very much included.

I have had my share of experiences with Sprint's infamous customer service department. As with just about every other company I've dealt with, some employees are good, some are bad. It just seems like Sprint's customer service department has more bad employees than good. I have had positive experiences most of the time, and a few dreadful ones that are hard to describe without swearing constantly. I have never been asked to pay a fee for contacting customer service, as has been described in some reviews. I have not been in touch with that department for about 9 months, as I have not had any problems, so it's possible that their policy has changed.

In the end, my cell phone is getting old and I am in the market for a new one. I have been investigating all of the different cell phone providers and will most likely be staying with Sprint. Hopefully I won't regret that decision, but thus far I have been given no reason to believe that I will.
