Help & Support:

In Ahmedabad, I recently changed from GTPL cable internet to SPiDiGO wireless due to shift to new residence and  unavailability of any landline at Chandkheda locality. The experience so far has been very bad.

2MBPS 7Month Plan

This is first month and experience so far:-

  1. Poor Speed around 256-512kbps unless using accelerator for downloads. Thankfully I was advised to choose 5GHZ roof antenna instead of 2.4GHz which has more problems related to interference.

  2. Connectivity Problems:- Week signals and internet unavailable most times - Without connection 15days of 30 days experience .

  3. Unreachable Customer Service:- It takes sometimes repeated dialing over an hour to reach customer service (079-66199999). On finally registering the complaint, they try to provide the resolution on phone, else it takes around 48hrs - 72hrs for engineer visit if lucky.

  4. Cold Engineers:- The attending technicians are mechanical and do not give an ear to customer queries.

  5. Misguiding Sales Person:- Commitments are given with confidence which cannot be delivered.

I needed to use internet on iPAD/Android Phone, the sales person said it can be done and engineer said it cannot, as spidigo requires a dedicated browser window authentication and wifi router authentication is not possible, so it is best only for desktop/laptop users.

Update 30.09.2013:- ==A workaround to login issues - Using an old rooted android phone always on with power charger connected and internet via wifi router. Keep phone's internet broswer always logged into Spidigo and keep it on screen active application always.

I am using free app ''Screen Standby # Root'' to shutdown screen while phone never sleeps (to avoid burning LCD). Now no need to login again on any device connected to router.==

Don't even think of getting any refund, I sent them reminders and even to their retention head Aman Malhotra before installation was done for refund (after hearing bad experience and delayed installation), but no one replies or call back.

So I am stuck now with SPiDiGO connection for 7 mths. Going for GTPL once again later once their wire installation reaches the building.

Spidigo may be considered only when landline alternatives are unavailable, a spidigo transmission tower installation with powerful signal reaching your location is nearby and have lots of patience.

UPDATE 05.08.2013 :- No Internet for the 5th day now due to poor wireless signal from SPiDiGO Transmission tower. They keep promising but fail to send staff to come and troubleshoot.

UPDATE 10.08.2013:- No Internet for the 10th day now due to poor wireless signal from SPiDiGO Transmission tower.

UPDATE 11.08.2013:- == Finally the field tech person came and changed antenna orientation and binded my connection to another transmission tower, internet worked for 1 hour, then again low signal.==

UPDATE 13.08.2013:-  Didn't bother escalating again cause it would be another long wait before anyone attends, so finally could get internet working by making a DIY parabolic antenna and attaching SPiDiGo Antenna router to it and adjusting orientation (See Photo attached).

UPDATE 30.09.2013:- It has been working fine over 1 month with minor issues which were quickly rectified by little changes to antenna orientation without calling support.
