I almost avoided seeing this movie when I thought that I had seen it all in the promos. A Spiderman movie will usually have a villain and stopping him from destroying the city would be the highlight of the movie. BANG, BANG ! BOOM !! And most of that action was already shown in the promos !! So why bother watching the movie ?

BOY !! Am I glad to have watched this wonderful movie that has so much more for the viewers not only in terms of action, but also on an emotional level. It seems like good sequels can indeed be made and they can even be made better !!

Spidey's having bad days !! While his buddies are doing great in their life, our hero's world is crumbling around him.

He is out of money and at one point he does not even have 50 Cents to continue a call with Mary Jane.

His grades are falling.

His aunt cannot pay her apartment rent.

Spidey's landlord is after him for rent.

Heck, he cannot even deliver pizzas and is fired !

Troubles galore for Peter Parker !!

And if that was not enough, he cannot continue being Spiderman, bcoz he can no longer shoot webs or climb walls !! And so a demoralized Spiderman quits !!

The villain this time is a scientist who attaches himself to 4 metal tentacles with Artificial Intelligence to conduct an experiment with nuclear fusion. The experiment goes bad and the tentacles start controlling the scientist instead of the other way round. And while we have a mad Scientist running lose, Spidey quits !!

Now what ? Who will stop the mad scientist ? Will Spidey regain his lost powers ? [Of course he will - Why would they make a film if he did not regain his powers !!] How that happens is something you need to find out for yourself.

Free advise - never wear metal objects when you go to see nuclear fusion experiments !! :-))

I didn't like Dunst for her role of Mary Jane Watson in part one. In part two, watching her was better , maybe I got used to it the second time, I guess.

Alfred Molina plays the brilliant Dr. Octavious convincingly. James Franco is ok as Harry Osbourne. I didn't like him, but then he is supposed to be disliked in the film. And so I guess he is good at the role.

Rosemary Harris is graceful in the role of Spidey's aunt who also acts as a role-model in the movie.

J.K. Simmons plays J. Jonah Jameson, the publisher of the Daily Bugle and Peter Parker's boss. he is the comic relief in the movie and does a good job of eliciting laughter from the audiences by being mean.

My friends were not satisfied with Tobey Maguire portrayed as Spiderman. I couldn't disagree more. I feel he is perfect for the part. In the movie the mild-mannered Peter Parker is faced with many choices, and the indecisiveness portrayed by a boyish Maguire suits the role perfectly.

I know the script didn't warrant it, but I missed Willem Dafoe as the mean and wicked 'Green-Goblin' in SP2, maybe they will get him back in SP3...

Sam Raimi does a very good job when directing SP2. He has managed very good performances from his cast and has succeeded in making an excellent and complete Superhero film. More important is the fact that he has made a sequel that even betters the original movie which is commendable !

Watch out for the old lady singing the song about Spiderman as Tobey Maguire looks on !! One of the many touching moments in the film !!

The CGI action is superb in the film and that itself is a reason enough to watch this brilliant movie !! The action scenes are too good and I enjoyed them very much. They had the audience clapping at many instances in the film. I would love to go on-and-on about describing the many moments that I enjoyed in the movie, but that would mean revealing the scenes to you. I'll be content with saying GO - SEE and EXPERIENCE them yourself !!

I liked the resurrection of Peter Parker as Spiderman and most of all, I liked the ending immensely. It all made sense.... ok, it all made spidey-sense :-))

The audience was left with the reassurance that there will definitely be a SP3 in the offing.

Spiderman (one) grossed 800 million at the B.O.

The brilliant film that it is, I will not be surprised to see SP2 cross the billion dollar mark !!

!! Spike !!
