First a simple question ...
if you want to go from Delhi to Mumbai by air .. how much food you need on the 2 hours flight? Can you manage having food before boarding flight .. or better still .. if you are a total foodie ... do you mind carrying your own food ... like you must have done N times on those train journeys? What ?? NO ??? Not even when you get to save atleast a couple of grands for that??

To reiterate, let me give my pointwise opinion on SpiceJet ...
Everyone's Fav Excuse 'against' SJ ~ FOOD:
Well ... honestly ... I wud be one of the most ardent fans of SpiceJet Airlines. Other airlines .. that are ''full service'' (allegedly) .. are offering Steamed Rice (infact it is steamed-day-before-yesterday-rice) with Baingan-ka-Bharta (brinjal's dunno-wut..) and sour curd .. and charging you atleast twice the SJ deal !!! what the heck? which airlines offers you ''Food'' that is actually worth the differential amount of Rs 3000 (going by the normally available deal of Rs 1399 on SJ) ??
CREW:
The crew is quite helpful and polite .. (unlike our Indian Airlines / Air India) .. and it is all young .. with no hangups or egos. The ground staff and cabin crew - all are well dressed - smart casuals instead of the boring stale formals that conveys more commands than requests!
AIRCRAFTS:
The planes SJ has are quite good .... all BIG Boeings .... not Brand New, but NOT AT ALL OLD .... neat n clean ... proper directions ... comfortable seats etc .... and yes .. a very lively color coordination on the exteriors and signages. infact I saw some other pvt airlines' planes at the airport .. and believe me .. I got shudders to even think of flying on them .. they were small okay ... but even looked old and rickety from outside - with misaligned body parts! thanx .. but, no thanx!
PERFORMANCE:
I travelled from Delhi to Mumbai to Goa to Delhi .. and not a single flight of the 3 was late ... I agree that there have been a few SJ flights getting late .. but then hey .. who isnt? MONSOON troublesfolks .. its not SJ alone!
PRICE:
An early bird can fetch a price as low as Rs 99 plus taxes... though a normally gettable fare ranges between Rs 699 - Rs 2399 --- depending upon the circuit u fly and the time u have booked. VERY AFFORDABLE! Flying has finally arrived in India.
ON BOARD SERVICE:
The smart stewards & hosts provide you with water +
cookies/peanuts/chips + candies ... I find that enough for a 2-3 hours flight. yes .. u can have a second serving if u want .. or even a third serving! I tried that just for the heck of it and I got my chips even the 3rd time! Wutsay People??
SAFETY:
SpiceJet or Jet or Sahara or Indian Airlines etc .. all have same safety procedure .. no one can decide on anything less on this front .. and so no point commenting upon this feature. its safe n solid.
All in all ..
I wud rate SpiceJet as a pioneer in Indian Flying. Imagine ... GOA, in the wettest of monsoons was having guests from North .. and I personally spoke to many of them .. more than 50% were travellng SJ... there were so many people flying for the first time ... with families of 5-6 ... just for sheer fun .. SJ has REAL INDIA flying ... other operators would soon be forced to sit back and take note .... SJ would eat away their market share very shortly.
What SJ has silently brought about in India .. is a FLYING CHANGE!
You would soon see India Flying!

BTW ... I wanted my 10th revu to be on something worthwhile ... I just realised that this was my 10th ... and am glad this is on SpiceJet .. truly a more-than-worthwhile service!!
