Spice - Jet Sour Taste

Had some better expectation in back of my mind, I preffered to travel on Spice Jet. Since people already praised a lot about this airways in this portal, wanted to have a mouth taste.


I traveled yesterday from Hydearabd To Kolkata. Did not get any reminder or message alert though the flight started half an hour delay. Boarding passes looks nice glossy and so air - hostesses as compare to other cheap carriages.  I already had a doubt about the snacks /meals on board but tried for luck. It took complete 45 minutes once  the fight get stabled, most of our fellow passengers were staring toward the cabin door may be expecting some Santa will come fwd with chocolates .


At last in the air some airhostesses made elegant entry caring some flat trays with cookies. Surprised to see that people were started grabbing the cookies shamelessly…taking 4-5 cookies each. Needless to mention air hostess were not feeling comfortable as those trays were getting finished very soon at most 2 –3 rows. I hesitantly taken 2 cookies and thought there may be regular course, which is yet to come.


To my ignorance they returned back with small / micro sized water bottle(god knows who manufacture those bottles which fails to satisfy sufficient thirst. Those cookies are good if u take little but poor hungry fellows who consumed more started feeling vomiting and nausea as soon as the flight was coming downwards. It seems cabin crews are already aware of these regular incidents and had precautionary measures provides plenty vomiting packets in each seats.


People started crying for more water and saw the aircrews are running from one end to another end, hardly giving you a chance to grab any. Next round of cookies started with specially trained(Para military) hostesses with their super fast run up asking to every passenger row without giving a single glare.  I somehow controlled my feeling and soothe myself that once you reach home you can enjoy your lunch. While getting down they addressed the passengers and wish them to see again. Frankly speaking vomiting and nausea-affected passengers are not in a mood to accept those greetings. Except few over privileged husband once in lifetime traveling by air with his amused / confused family still smiling.


Here is my return journey experience from Kolkata to Hyderabad on Saturday 24 th March. The flight was actually destined to Bangalore via Hyderabad, Since I already had a pathetic experience, I boarded with very low expectation this time.


Flight was as usual 30 mins delay(scheduled departure was 2:15 PM). On half of the run-way, it suddenly got stopped and Fight Captain declared that they are facing some technical issue and wanted to return back the flight towards the Main gate. We helplessly stared each other asked the crews what is the exact issue and how much time it is going to take. They replied that they do not have any answer.


All most half an hour passed some passengers got agitated and approached towards the cockpit door and started shouting. No person came forward expect those innocent air hostesses. They become the scapegoat in front of the angry passengers and started cursing their job. After 1 hr Flight captain declared that there is some technical snag and it will take some more time to get rectified. There is no alternative arrangement for the passengers. All the passengers were sitting helplessly inside the flight. There are lots of passengers for Bangalore and started showing concerns for delay.


We felt thirsty and asked for water but the crews refused to serve. Some people who went forward to know the situation were asked rudely to go back to their seat. They did not keep us posted with the current status. Ultimately it started at 5:05 PM from Kolkata.


Few observations:




  1. Don't even care to inform the passengers about the issue




  2. No clear communication between the flight crews and the passengers in case of delay




  3. Don’t treat the passengers accordingly on the time of crisis




  4. Their attitude is such that they are doing some charity work




  5. Never show any sense of responsibility to the passengers in case the flight get major delay / cancelled




  6. Compensation - forget about it
