I am a real Spice mobile fan since I bought Spice X-1 the gaming phone.
Spice phones are sturdy and very reliable(not like Nokia). I had a really bad experience with expensive Nokia phones.
Look and Feel:
Well coming back to M6800, First thing first. This mobile is very well proportioned and never looked odd shaped. At about 12 mm thick it is quite a sleek phone.A big screen dominates the front which never looked out of proportion. One round menu screen in the center below the screen and two feather touch buttons for call functions.
The back is dominated by a 3.2 MP camera, and a speaker vent. Camera quality is discussed later.
At the top houses a 3.5 mm jack attachment, a mini usb port and a very cute ON/OFF button.
User Interface:
Switch on the phone and you are greeted by an animation of Spice logo.
It is offering Eight customized home screen.
One is a shortcut screen in which you can use any 12 widgets which is very helpful if you don't want to go through the entire menu options of accessing any menu option.
The second home screen displays the Photo Album. You can select memory option like phone or memory card and the photos stored on your phone will be lined up on this screen in a very animated and good manner. I mean you will like to use the album right on the home screen.
The third screen is the contacts shortcut screen. You can put your most used contacts on this screen again in a very attractive interface and can call or message them on only one click.
Fourth screen is the live screen in which you can install live wall paper and also shortcuts like Twitter feeds, Facebook account, Calender, Whether update, etc.
Fifth screen is of audio player. You can directly access the audio files stored on your phone on this home screen.
Sixth screen is the message screen. Here you can write message, view message. This is also a useful screen.
Seventh screen is call logs screen. It stores all the communication happened.
Eight screen is the settings shortcut screen. Here you can customize the settings for WiFi, Bluetooth, User profile, Multi Sim Settings.
The User interface is 3D and very attractive. The touch screen is very vibrant due to which the UI looks really cool and attractive.
Main useful features are: Dual Sim, 8 GB memory support, 8 cm resistive touch screen, WiFi, Push Mail, Opera Mobile 10, VAS applications.
Call Quality.
The call quality of this phone is very good. Network reception is very good, conversation is easily audible to both the persons. Call record function is also available.
WiFi functions very seamlessly. I found no problems connecting it to my home network and it connected within seconds. Works faster and Opera Mobile 10 browser is a boon to mobile internet users.
Camera quality is decent if not very good. I clicked few pics on it and found it satisfactory. The camera interface is simple and easy to use. But the video quality is not at all good. If someone is looking to use this phone as a video camcorder then avoid this phone.
Music quality of this phone is top notch. The headphones provided with this phone are of very good quality, they actually works as kind of a noise cancelling head phones.
It is having a lot of Java based programs. These are useful ones like spice push mail, mobiscape, ngpay, railyatra, snaptu, etc.
It has many social networking apps like Facebook, twitter, etc.
Video Player:
Video player surprisingly plays videos on 30 fps. The video quality of this phone is great and touch screen enhances the video experience a lot. Youtube videos can also be played on this phone.
Battery Backup of this phone is just about OK. One should expect a phone with a big touch screen, many connectivity options to have at least 1200 or 1250 MaH battery, but sadly you get a 100 MaH one. This phone lasts me for two days with heavy WiFi usage and some calling.
Things missing in this phone.
You will definitely be missing document viewer and editor on this phone, but again you don't expect these things in a phone in this category.
LED flash is also a sore miss in this phone. Camera results suffer in case of low lights.
If you need a simple phone with internet features and a good touch screen then you should go for this phone but if you want to do your business on phone the you can give it a miss as you don't find document editor on this phone.
I bought this phone for Rs. 4100/- from Spice Hotspot and I am hugely satisfied with this phone.
