PVR Spice Noida is now Spice world. I think now they are not under PVR banner, hence the decay in the whole system.
Yesterday we went to see BOLT movie at spice world. The whole programme was a sudden decision, and the motivational factor to go on Thursday was their advertisement in the newspaper saying "Maximum movies at Rs. 40 & Rs. 50 from Monday to Thursday". We thought BOLT might qualify for it.
On reaching the theatre we found that this scheme is applicable only for shows starting upto 12 noon. They had different slab of rates for movies starting upto 6:30 pm and maximum rates for movies starting after 6:30 pm. I don't know how the scheme(Rs. 40/ 50) is applicable for maximum movies, if it is only applicable for shows starting by 12 noon. Any way we were crestfallen and my son had a sad look on his face.
We decided to go for the movie. We asked for Rs. 140 ticket and was told that it will be 4th row from screen. We then opted for Rs. 150 tickets as it was second row from back. Show timing was 8:20 pm.
The movie was in Audi 6 of the multiplex. We rushed to Audi 6 but the movie had started by that time. As we entered the hall it was quite dark on the screen. We thought that since we have just walked in, it will take some time for our eyes to adjust.
The projection was bad, we could hardly see any colors and faces. I complained to the "facilitator' during the interval and he said he will look into it.
Nothing happened and they continued with the screening of the movie with poor projection. Sometimes it was even difficult to make out the faces. How I wish I had a torch to light up the sceen. I couldn't believe Walt Disney making movies like these.
After the movie was over I asked the security guy, and he told me that this movie is like that only. At home I checked the trailer of the movie on the DVD and was quite shocked. It was so colorful and different from just what we watched in the hall. Now I am waiting for the movie to be released on the DVD so that I can watch it again. Only thing good about the whole experience was the story of the movie which was dubbed in Hindi. That kept us glued to the seat.
We ordered for a 7up+ popcorn combo during the interval. The popcron were perfect but 7up was a let down. It was fountain 7up, and when I told the cashier about it he just shrugged. It tasted more of water then 7up.
Point to ponder:-
Why there is no quality check by Walt Disney. How can a hall spoil the movie experience. I think they should have a system of black listing halls. I read it somewhere long time back that there are some Indian distributors who are very particular about where they will release the movie. Walt Disney should learn from it.
Why can't pepsi sell bottles in the hall, instead of fountain pepsi. They can always pour drinks from the bottle, instead of giving water from fountain pepsi.
