Is ‘Spencer Plaza’ popularly known as the Spencers`, too just yet another Mall like the aforesaid ones? Being a regular shopper at Spencer Plaza, my reply would exactingly be a ‘No’!!!

This is a shopping precinct situated at Anna Salai in Chennai with world class facilities. The most enchanting highlight of this Mall is its pleasant & comfortable situate due to the excellent transportation facilities of the locale`. The neighboring Taj group of Hotels, the many banks and office complexes have made the Spencers’ a great shopping place !!

Even ‘Excellent’ would be an under-portrayal of the ambience of the Spencers`. With the efficiency of interior decorators of high repute and professional house-keeping agencies, all you could see at Spencers` is a higher than 5-Star look ! Every nook & corner of such an extensive area is hygienic and clean to the core. The colourful fountains in every phase, the adjoining gardens with robust bushes, the contiguous beautiful floral arrangements and the special radiance of gorgeous & exquisite lights add great charm to the place and make our shopping a magnificent experience.

• My first choice is the ‘Food World’ in the ground floor of Phase I which is a real fun place to shop groceries at very reasonable prices. For billing with credit / debit cards, you are required to purchase for minimum of Rs.250/-. Here the vegetables, fruit juices / bottled drinks, sea-food, eggs are very fresh. You get even cut vegetables neatly swathed in Ziplog covers

• What’s a shopping without some snacks? Yes, 3 places in the ground floor of Phase I does offer a variety of fast-foods viz., Pav Bhajji, Bhel / Pani Puri, Dahi Puris, Pizzas, Kachodis, Burgers, Cakes N’ Bakes, aerated drinks, hot / cold, hot masala / ice teas.. Though a bit costly, all these are really very very tasty – so don’t miss it !

• My next desired spot is the Music World in Phase I – it offers a variety of Audio /Video CDs, Cassettes, educative kids’ story / rhyme CDs, kids’ comic books and a lot more. Often you could find some celebrity visiting this spot.

• If you visit the Spencers` and still miss ‘Wonderland’, then I would really pity you! Wonderland is the most wonderful video game parlour in Phase II offering wide range of video games which right from babies to granp(m)as would enjoy – that too, at very reasonable prices !

• For the sport-lovers, you have more than adequate choices @ ‘Wild West’, a Snooker – Billiards Parlor situated at Phase II with an attached Café and advance reservations could be made by dialing (044) 28517572 / 73.

• For purchasing Luggage / travel goods, you have plenty of shops like Sartoria, Coromantel, VIP World etc. offering branded travel goods (with guarantee) @ moderate rates.

• For purchasing / servicing musical instruments, you have lot of shops like Tansen, Giri, Shruti etc.

• Do shop @ ‘Health & Glow’ for all branded cosmetics, body-sprays, perfumes, roll-ons, comb-set, etc. at very reasonable rates.
