Story:

Well I have read movie novelization before, I guess 2 novelizations, but this is my 1st for a Bollywood movie. Here’s my review of a book named SPECIAL 26 which is a novelization of one of the successful Bollywood movie of same name starring Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpai & Anupam Kher and which in turn based on true events. The book is written by Gabriel Khan, s journalist and writer based in Mumbai.

A Novelization is a reverse process, in this case you adapted a movie’s screenplay into a novel, most of the times it always will be a novel made into a movie. So let’s see what the story is-: Ajay is a conmen who alongwith his 3 other partners, posed as CBI officials and conduct fake raids at crooked rich guys, it could be a minister, an actor or businessman or traders, who stashed illegal incomes, so they’re kind of Robin Hoods. And nobody knew that they’re fake officers. When the genuine CBI organisation came to know about these heists, they employed their best officer Waseem Khan to track them down. But these simple looking mens are planning a final and a big heist, will they able to achieve it, and what’s with the CBI disguise raiding corrupt officials? If you haven’t watched the movie, do read the novel first.

It took me 20 days to complete the 333 pgs of a pocketbook kind of version. This story is based on true events about an Indian guy who after getting rejected from Services/CBI thought to do all these heists and he never get caught. To take revenge from the corrupt system he did all these fake raids. I have seen the movie before reading thia novel so there was no surprise for me but still I must say that author has done a wonderful job, and tried to keep the story fresh by using good vocabularyand keeping tge situations in a perfect order, the readability was good, no hard words used so you dont need dictionary for sure. Before this I have read only the script version of ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ Bollywood movie and also the novelizations of Hollywood movies like Doom(The Rock starrer and based on the game). Do check out the novel, I rate this novel 5.5/8.
