What a bizzare situation it is, India's seventh best orthopaedic hospital "SPARSH HOSPITAL" headed by Dr.Sharan Patil, known for the challenging surgery done on Lakshmi with eight legs is actually dropping down in its standards.
Dr.Sharan Patil and his administrative team which includes his wife Mrs. Meena Patil who is the director, Dr.Yohannan John who is the director of medical services, Dr. Mamtha Patil, administrator and Mr. Benny the hospital HR have started cutting salaries of poor staff nurses who get a meagre 5000 or 6000 rupees in order to make profit and to fulfil their wishes of building new hospitals.
The salary paid by Sparsh hospital of 5000 and 6000 rupees is way below the actual market price for staff nurses compared to hospitals in the neighbourhood like narayana hrudyalya, fortis and vikram hospitals. These other hospitals not only give a better salary but also give free accommodation unlike Sparsh which detects money as rent from the salary for providing accommodation. Best part is they dont cut salary doctors of who do half day work or those who come in the morning show their face and come back in evening to show their face again, but instead the poor staff nurses have to get tortured.
Due to the non payment of salaries and cuts by the hospital administrative staff, there are so many who resign. This leading to recruitment of staff nurses which are below par for an orthopaedic hospital of such fame in the opd or in the wards in their hospitals. But should say thanks to the hospital as it is act as a stepping stone for each one of us to learn procedures and join better hospitals where we are given respect and work but feel sorry for the patients who undergo treatment here as they are treated by trainee nurses with few to supervise them.
Such is the state of india's seventh best orthopaedic hospital in bangalore.
