When you shopi in Dmarts or Spar or any other Hypermarket, you notice discounts on products, these discounts are visible to you as TAGS where products are placed, you find it attractive and buy it. When you goto the shopping counter, these discounts are not included in the Computer system or they would have changed like you must have read an old TAG of 15% discount and in the computer system it is either 0% or maybe 5%- This is not informed to you by the POS staff because he/she does not know the Tag you have read. Most of the times you shop for a huge list and think that discounts are included but BEWARE it is NOT the Case- Discounts are not updated in the system or wrongly updated- what you as discount tag in Shelves is not what you get.
I recently bought Pediasure-750 G- Chocoloate flavour and the discount tag was 658 rs for a 910 MRP- it was written as Supersaver- After shopping when I saw the amount they just gave me 10 rs discount which means I paid 900 Rs- Now they are saying that the tag was wrong- How can Supersaver be just 10rs less. I also bought Indian Salmon which was 599/kg when I went to POS terminal, the representative said 599 is a wrong price, it is a higher price so you need to pay a higher price- I am willing to pay a higher price but why then they have written a wrong price of the product.
Most of these hypermarkets keep the discounts for themselves, many of the free items are pilfered by Stores personnel- They will say it is out of stock or the offer is over- of course the customer will not haggle.
Hence it is better to shop for few items IN STORE, check the tag discount is correct when you bill it at POS OR better Shop online wherein you get the freedom to change the shopping list, adjust your wallet money and you can clearly see the discount and only if you feel satisfied you can buy it.
Be careful of Hypermarkets.
