Another dud for Mahima. Review on Souten - The Other Woman

Souten tells the story of Mitali (Mahima Choudhary) is the wife of rich and glamorous disciplinarian Ranveer Singh (Gulshan Grover).

The young Raj, (Vikram Singh) who is the brother of a family friend comes in as a deviation in Mitali’s otherwise lonely life. One thing leads to another and both Mithali and Raj end up having an illicit relationship.

Of the two who are witness to the ‘crime,’ one (Grover’s right hand man) remains mum while the other (Padmini Kolhapure who plays Raj’s sister-in-law) goes about setting things right. The twist though, takes place when Mitali’s stepdaughter Sapna (Kiran Rathod) lands up. Sapna and Raj fall in love with each other.

This is something that Mitali can’t accept. ...

From the script point of view, every time a good scene ends, a song pops up without a valid situation, which gives you an impression that the writer and the makers wanted to incorporate all possible ingredients to woo the cinegoer.

Ending of the movie is quite tame with the intended twist hardly succeeding in creating any mirth. It appears as if the film has been just wrapped up abruptly at that point.

Music is a sore point. Practically all the tunes sound the same. Mahima does well in a role that is not everyone's cup of tea. She is at her best towards the latter part of the film. Vikram is effective enough.Avoid!!
