We know that we watch it in ur media room enjoying popcorn. This Movie had lot of potential but it falls flat on face. One time watch A Spectacularly Underwhelming Sports Flick Now Bollywood made a movie with the mixture of sport and drama. Before seen the movie I read writer got inspired from the sandeep life so this will be the good movie. But its not like that, the movie is quite simple and the dialogue delivery is not that level. Now a days the standard of Bollywood is so high . The story of one of India’s best drag flickers is punctuated by a dramatic accidental gunshot that threatened to end Singh’s shining career. But the fact that he made a successful comeback and went on to bring more glory to his team and country, is a testament to his tenacity and willpower. Director Shaad Ali wastes too much time trying to set the ball rolling. Young Sandeep doesn’t want to train under his ruthless coach. Then he grows up to meet a girl who plays hockey and decides to return to the sport. Why the coach is so obnoxious remains unanswered throughout the film. Events play out but we remain strangely detached. Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu are sincere, no doubt with full commitment to their roles. Pannu, as Harpreet, plays centre forward herself and dreams of being part of the national squad. It is her story that is sacrificed at the altar to let Singh be the sole recipient of our attention. dosanjh act sandeep role and he has done great job. In the movie writer tried to show how India board committee slaps a life ban on sandeep. This movie tells the story of sandeep how much he suffered. As I told story is quite simple but writer shown to the society about the sandip. At least now people knows about sandy. Media is the great medium to give the knowledge to society. I want to thanks writer, producer who told the story of sandeepby movie. Looks like the season of biopics is upon us. Close on the heels of Sanju we have Soorma, based on the real life story of hockey star Sandeep Singh. Now the thing with biopics is that we already know the story. So, this urge to have the rug pulled from under our collective feet is a tad difficult to be satisfied. Sanju, despite being accused of being too kind to Sanjay Dutt – to the extent of whitewashing his mistakes – did manage to put up a compelling drama. 'Soorma' scores for romance but misses the sporting targetBiopics can be inspiring. But biopics also tend to gloss over the negative shades of the subject’s personae. As far as they are not as big a whitewash as Sanju was for Sanjay Dutt, that should be fine. The good news is that Soorma [meaning warrior], the story of India’s field hockey international Sandeep Singh, is not a whitewash. It is more of a love story weaving its way in and out with the hockey stick and ball at one point within its limits just like the rectangular field in the sport, and with a humane touch. There is good dosage of brotherly love, some hopeless acting from seemingly stern coaches and administration officials but compensated with good music and songs. Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, who plays Sandeep, and Shaad Ali, the director, are the real Soormas of the film. Dosanjh’s voice to ‘Ishq di baaziyan’ is velvety and opposite to his stick-solid performance. On the eve of the film’s release, Sandeep Singh assured readers of The screenplay remains tepid and drags. The characters just seem to be going through the motions. The songs come in every few minutes and steal the sense of urgency necessary in a sports flick. Dosanjh’s onscreen brother, played by Angad Bedi, is impressive but has a limited role. As for others, only Vijay Raaz stands out as a coach with an enviable chutzpah and also the best lines. The film ends with real footage of Sandeep Singh receiving his much deserved Arjuna Award. What should have been a rousing denouement is just a retelling of events in the most obvious and uninspiring fashion
