FIRST OF ALL- THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE XPERIA MINI PRO .NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH XPERIA x10 MINI PRO or XPERIA PRO.
Those who are confused between the confusing XPERIA line up.here's the dope.XPERIA is the latest lineup from Sony Ericsson, which earlier experimented with equally confusing Z, K, W series:)
XPERIA X10 Mini Pro was the predecessor for this phone. PRO signifies it is a SLIDER KEYBOARD phone. Mini signifies it can fit in your palm very easily.
XPERIA MINI PRO is a 3G Smart phone working on Android 2.3.4(Gingerbread) with capacitve touch and HD Video Recording.
The camera at 5 MegaPixel is good, but nothing like the CyberShot series which was earlier a forte of SE. But then even NOKIA is coming out with just about average cameras in their latest lineup, unlike a few phones of the N-series which had CARL ZEISS lens.
Android 2.3 is a breeze. The Four Corner User Interface is very convenient, and the level of desktop customization is great.
Slider Keyboard is good, but there's a slight of space constraint when using the topmost QWERTY line.as fingers just dong fit in there.
Facebook integration is good, but nothing much novel now.considering the fact that even MICROMAX is offering the same:P
The Display clarity is AWESOME.BRAVIA Engine makes viewing photos/videos a pleasant experience. PINCH ZOOM is very very responsive.
I dont know whether its with all android phones or just this one.but the multiple'profiles'(indoor/outdoor/meetinf/car etc) is missing. You can either have the phone ringing or on silent. that's it!
The only major crib I have after two weeks of use is the PATHETIC BATTERY LIFE! Believe me it requires DAILY CHARGING even after very moderate use! Actually this phone is loaded with so many features and apps, Sony Ericsson should have included a powerful battery to support it.
To sum it up, there's no better phone in this price range. If you are confused between NOKIA C-6, Samsung WAVE-II, and Sony Ericsson Mini PRO, the MINI PRO is your best bet:)
