8 months into xperia mini pro usage, and I have not had a moment to regret. to summarise its one of the best in the "value for money" category. my history with the phone is as follows.
Obviously the first starting point for me, as for most others, was the combination of touch and qwerty. next criterion was a good camera and a front camera. next still was good video. then good net speed. did a lot of research and zeroed in on this one. bought it in early jan 2012. it cost me 16, 200 then. now I learn its a lot cheaper. but no regrets, I repeat.
my experience with mini pro.
Pros :
1) needless to mention, the excellent qwerty keyboard . initially I thought the top row of the keypad may be a bit difficult to type. but within a day or 2 of typing, I got used to it. baseless apprehension, really.
2) photo and video quality - excellent. no exaggeration. video is really HD and good. simple to use as well. the panorama mode pic is also a good feature. autofocus is pretty useful too.
3) music and video playback - good . music plays well, better than samsung, iam told. what I liked is that you can control volume with the volume keys, even when the screen is timed out. probably a feature in many phones. but found it very useful. about video playback, smooth (no video/audio lag). youtube is not smooth for my connection (2G vodafone)
4) wi-fi hotspot : very very handy, if you are travelling and need access on your LT. easily connects and bearable speed.
5) other features : rugged (dropped 5-6 times, but nothing), scratch free screen, display is good even in bright sunlight (thanks to sony bravia engine), compact size, smooth touch, notification led very useful, no hanging/restart problem. (in eight months of tough use, only once did the display go blank. I restarted and ok.)

Cons :
Really, I could not bring myself to write anything bad about the xperia mini pro. but will share the negatives, which I experienced.
1) My only major grouse is that many times during calls, the reception of voice from the other end is accompanied by a "click click" like sound every 30 seconds or so. not that it disconnects or something, but its just irritating. I can not understand why.
2) Another negative - the video recording does not have a pause option. meaning if you are recording something and would like to pause for 15 secs and start again, you cant. you will have to record 2 videos. start stop. and then again start stop.
3) Till date, I have not found a pocket cover for this mobile. maybe its the slide design. even tried the Sony showroom. never mind though, I carry it just as it is.
4) you will find many people commenting on low battery life. I tell you, its not much of a concern if you are the average user (not much internet/gps on a dally basis). I have lasted 2+ days without much talk and 0 internet/gps. on weekends. of course, if GPS and internet are in continuous use, it does drain out the battery fairly quickly, in 4-5 hours time. but I guess, you wouldn't use these for 5 hours at a stretch.
