I bought it from a local shopkeeper(in Jan 2014), as I was getting it at a discounted price of 17100, with 1 year Sony warranty. For the past 3 years bought galaxy S2. I wanted to upgrade to a 5" tablet, but couldn't find any such device with good battery backup.
Although the display is not even comparable to the super Amoled plus in S2, S3 etc, but it isn't bad at all. In fact, now I think the Amoled screen have high color saturation, and I had got used to those! The screen resolution is decent enough to play all HD games, watch hd videos etc. I am not a crazy fan of full hd on mobile phone, I mean most of the times I use it for calling, browsing, google maps, notes, and gaming, and the resolution of Xperia C is sufficient for all those. Also all the phones with full hd(or qHD) have low battery backup. Whereas my phone lasts 2 days easily, and when I turn on stamina mode, it lasts for 3-3.5 days easily! This is the most important factor for me in any mobile device.
I have bought a purple colored phone, and couldn't be happier beacuse it's funky and still doesn't look girly at all! Lot of illiterate people who own galaxy S4, Note3 appreciate my phone's looks, and one guy even told me to exchange it! But if I wanted those, I could have bought them myself! Btw these ppl were so stupid, that even when I tried to explain them that their note3, S4 are too good in processor, display, ram etc, they would still place looks over matter! And I tried to show a common picture on both devices side by side, still they couldn't make out any difference! Poor souls got conned by the mobile sellers, cause they just wanted a simple tablet, yet ended up buying S4, note3 etc!
One will be foolish to compare this to Galaxy Grand, because Xperia C is much better than that. I mean galaxy grand has got pathetic screen resolution, if u see a circular image on its screen, the boundary looks skewed and uneven! Also its processor and RAM are below average in performance.
Note: Even today I am a samsung fan, and my opinion is that samsung provides best value-for-money. I also think that sony xperia range is slightly overpriced, and they charge high premium for their slightly better hardware and brand name. But, nowadays samsung is not rexclusive and premium anymore, and I wanted to try out sony xperia range since a long time. But, I will never buy any sony mobile phone UNLESS I get it at a discount, i.e. unless the price seems fair to me!
