I researched many laptops-HP HDX series, Dell XPS series, Toshiba Quosmio, Apple Macbook Pro and finally Sony AR series
Of these HP and Dell high end laptops are heavy-they are considered as desktop replacements, rather than laptops. Dell XPS M1730 is value for money though. Apple & Toshiba do not offer Blueray drive capable laptops.
So finally I was left with Sony AR series.The features of this laptop are simply mind boggling:Genuine Microsoft Vista Ultimate(32bit)-Good performance,
Processor:Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo T8300-2.4Ghz- Fantastic speed. Hard disk drive 500GB(250x2)- you can store all you can!!!Display-17 inch Full High Definition- 1900x1200 resolution(1080dpi)-Crystal clear pictures with good colour contrast
Optical disc drives: DVd drive and writer, Bluray Disc Drive and Writer. RAM of 4GB(actually only 3.5GB is allotted to the OS as 0.5GB is used by graphics card) Graphics card-NVIDIA 512 MB- gaming is real fun on this PC
TV Tuner Card- one can play TV directly. Record live TV in media center
Inbuilt 1.3 MP camera for video chatting
Some of the other features include: 3 USB ports, Bluetooth, MMC card reader, Memory stick reader, HDMI out( you can connect PC to a external display), microphone, modem, wireless LAN etc.
I have written much more abt this PC, but unable to upload into the website-so sorry for a short review.
All in all a good laptop-if one can afford(should as crazy as me to buy it)
