We got this Cordless luckily when my Dad visited Hyderabad way back in 1997 and thought of carrying something back home for us. Cordless was a thing in demand in those days and Sony was the leader. Unfortunate that Sony doesn't manufacture them anymore and the current ones aren't worth. It's been 12 long years and we have changed it's battery just 2 times and the overall performance of the phone is awesome till date. Sturdy and easy to handle.
All these years the phone has been an important part of our lives. We are now somewhat depended on it. Nobody prefers to use the Corded phones. The reception/clarity is awesome.
The only drawback with these old phones is your privacy. Though it has a fun part attached to this lack of security. We tune in to FM radio and catch its frequency to this phone and we can clearly hear voices from both parties. I remember gifting an audio cassette of my GF's singing abilities from during one of our conversations after midnight:) LOLZ
Overall I still prefer this phone over my new Panasonic 2.4 GHz model which does not have that good handling and is slightly more bulky than the Sony model.
Sony should have kept it's cordless phones in production for their loyal patrons like me.
