It had been a long time since I was thinking of getting a LCD for my house but due to time constraint I wasn't able to give much attention to it, Finally I got time and did research on lcd's, read reviews, understood technical specification and finally chose sony 32s400a bravia.
I visited 3 shops ezone, vijay sales and croma to get first hand feel of lcds and see if sony's product is the best or not. the price range for 32 inches model across all brands had around plus mini of 5 k to sony. the costliest was of course sony's 32w400a. finally after all the consideration and review I chose 32s400a. now this is a very interesting case. I chose to purchase it from croma since I had purchased from there before and I also had TATA SBI credit card which would fetch me points which I can redeem later.
I went to croma and the sales guy there was very much bent on purchasing philips 32 inches rather than sony. he had adjusted the settings in such a way that the philips lcd would look better than sony 32s400a. I am sure he was getting more commision on selling 32 inches. how much he proved I did not budge and finally chose sony 32 inches..now delivery took 2 days and it came on time. it was a very beautiful piece. we all loved it the moment we opened it. setting it up was very easy. we set it up on a table and all u needed was a screwdriver.. the manual was easy to understand and within half an hour it was up and running.
We also connected it to dvd pl payer and it was running smoothly. the setting was something I was worried of since I had never used a lcd but it was very well organised and self explanatory..it was a cake walk.the picture clarity was amazing and sound quality was also good..i later purchased a vga to vga cable to connect my laptop to lcd and the picture quality was just mind blowing..it looked as if you are seeing it live..now the resolution of my laptop and tv is different but then also there was no difficulty in watching the laptop's display on TV.. I was also able to watch it full screen with amazing clarity..
I also got a cable where I was able to give the audio output from laptop to my home theatre and then watching movies was a great experience..overall I am happy with the product. to get the full benefit of the TV one has to get digital connection like tata sky, airtel or big tv..i have analog connection in my residence so tv signal was not so good..
