I bought PS2 a couple of months back during my europe visit, paid up 150Euros for a PS2 console, one analog controller and Grantourismo 4 game. I bought a 32 Mb memory card (not a sony make) costing another 25 Euros.
it was the first time for me that I was experiencing the PS2 gaming and the GT4 has been the perfect game that can be for anyone to start with. Its been over two months that I kill a couple of hours daily playing the game and so far I have been able to complete only 38% of the game. But graphics, realism and the selections of the cars is fantastic. Far better than any driving games I have ever played (including NFSes). PS 2 provides the performance, I dont have to wait frustratingly for an excellent graphics and game performance as is the case on almost all PC games (even when I have a pretty decent PC for gaming).
Accessories:- PS 2 has a variety of accessories that can be added on, naming a few are driving wheel, Gun shooting controllers, and various hardwares for increasing number of gamers. However all these things are quite expensive. But dude if u want the quality u pay the price.
Problem areas- Availability of Games is a problem as far as I have seen, most of the shops dont have a big collection of PS2 games, One of the major problem (it could be my personal problem as well), is that for a PC game u can always download a trial version free from the net and try it out and then spend your hard earned money to buy the full version of the game, same is not possible for PS2 games, u have to necessarily buy the game and take the risk whether u are going to like it or not. Most of the websites about gaming do not give an extensive overview of the games so its very difficult to make a choice of the game u want.
OVERALL:- if u are a die hard gamer, PS2 is one gadget you want to own, it takes your gaming experience to a new level.
