About 15 days ago, my dad bought me an PS2 on his recent trip to US, But its disc drive is broken. It makes a grinding noise on disc insertion and does not identify any kind of discs. Now ps2 support says that your warranty is void as you have moved the console out of the country of purchase. How is one supposed to know that the package contains a faulty console. Am I supposed to check it before I buy? My father didn’t check it of course, assuming it to be a top quality product coming from a world class company. But it turned out otherwise.
Is the company which has worldwide presence not even a bit responsible for selling a piece of junk? I see that lots of buyers are having this problem and sony is offering them replacement consoles but that is not applicable to me as I have moved the console to India. Lots of friends advised me to buy Nintendo or xbox one consoles but I went against them to buy an PS2 and now they have been proven right and I have ended up with an expensive ps2 dummy. My advise is DONT BUY.
