After facing much of resistance from my wife I finally managed to buy new PS2 today. Before I start telling you about my latest acquisition let me tell you that I was a avid gamer since my school time, grown up with Atari and Samurai gaming consoles playing Mario and contra on corner shop which had game stations which looked more like washing machine and used to cost Rs 1/game.
Then I lost the touch due to my studies and other responsibilities which life throwed on me. With this purchase I am trying to get my love back but my wife is not amused and has strict dos and Don’ts for me. Most important is she shouldn’t feel ignored and my princess doesn’t spend much time on it.
First the damages
Basic Package – Console, One Controller and AV leads - Rs 6250 Memory card 8GB Imported (without warranty) – Rs 650 Burnout revenge DVD – Rs 700
Total – 7600 (I think I got a good deal)
Got it packed and walked out a proud owner and from corner of my eyes I was trying to see if somebody has noticed my new purchase and voila I could see two teenagers with green faces with ‘envy’ written all over it. I am proud already.
As soon as we reached home I set the beauty up and I and my daughter were about to press the button my better half vetoed and we have to delay the inauguration. Then came the magic moment she was asleep so was the princess, I plugged the beauty in and started the game. After the ‘Mario’ graphics the visuals on Burnout were a culture shock for me and I followed the tutorial of the game. Soon I entered the race. First bump I got a shock literally ‘aaila’ joystick vibrated with game another culture shock for me. I enjoyed my gaming nirvana upto three in the morning and finally retired with blood red eyes promising the beauty to come back soon. So if we call it a gaming console it is a shame as it a complete entertainment package rolled into a slim and sexy body.
Now I am looking forward to many Friday and Saturday nights to spend with this beauty, because that is the only time I can stay awake late and enjoy it while my wife sleeps and hope she never comes to know what her husband is upto while she sleeps. ;-) shhhh. Lets keep it secret.
