I bought this system in Oct 2006. It costed me Rs 37000/-. I had always been a fan of Bass. I like Rap and hip Hop and this system does wonders to my listening experience.
This system has a whole lot of features. Some include:
Virtual Groove : This mode increases the bass by 4 times.
You can feel the thud and the punch when you increase the volume to 18 or above. You would feel that this system is punching you with Bass (You can feel the power hitting you)
Multi Connectivity which means you can connect multiple external audio or video sources like amplifiers or Gaming devices etc.
Crystal clear and crisp sound.
PLAY an original Dolby DVD and you will really feel like you are inside a theatre. I would say it is a Theatre experience and not theatre like experience.
CONS of this product:
Except for the performance part this system has given me 1 problem multiple times in these 4 years.
- The Software freezes in the DVD mode and the system would require a Service. In fact the Lens motor becomes very weak and could hardly rotate the disc and this freezes the entire software. I guess this is common with all Sony Lens. They can hardly accept non Original Discs. So far I have had this issue 3 times in 4 years and every time I have had to shell out a minimum of Rs 1000 including visiting and Service Tax to Sony. Yesterday I brought this system back from sony after its 3rd repair session. Costed me Rs 2100 but it feels like new.
Apart from this issue I have not had any other problem with this system. The issue had happened once in every 2 years except the first time which happened in the 1st month of purchase.
Even though I have had to shell out Rs 4000 in 4 years for the same issue repairs, M still extremely happy with this product. I bet you can hardly find any system with this Crisp and clear sound PUNCH. I bet I have listened to a lot of home theatres and HI-FI systems but nothing came close to it except Bose, not even Sony home theatres could match its power packed performance.
I would say this is the best system I got at a reasonable price. BOSE being extremely costly & a different league of course.
I would keep this product with me for I dont know how much time coz Sony has stopped making this product with so much Power. The maximum output that they make now is 7000 Watts PMPO. I was lucky to get this system.
Note: I watched CASINO ROYAL on the original Sony DVD recorded in Dolby Surround sound. This is the basis of my review saying that this product converts your home into a THEATRE (not theatre like but an actual theatre).
I would recommend this product to people provided they are willing to shell out some money to maintain this product. Go ahead get one for yourself (provided SONY has a stock which I doubt).
THIS IS A TRULY MUSIC ENTHUSIAST's SYSTEM.
