I have bought Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 on 1/1/2011.
It is a good phone (if you are new to android).
Sound clarity if excellent on head phones but not loud enough on built in speakers. You can find lot of third party apps on android market. it is really cool.
But thing is it is not that much user friendly. Even it does not have file manager. You have to download file manager from android market.
Below mentioned are the specifications:
General: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS 1900/2100 MHz, HSDPA
Form factor: Touchscreen bar
Dimensions: 99 x 54 x 15 mm, 104g
weight " 16M-color TFT capacitive touchscreen with HVGA resolution;
scratch-resistant surface
Platform: Android OS 1.6 with customtakeout
Sony Ericsson UI CPU: 600Mhz processor
Memory: 128MB internal memory,
microSD card slot, 2GB card included
Camera: 3-megapixel fixed-focus camera, geo-tagging, VGA@30fps video recording
Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP,
standard microUSB port,
GPS receiver with A-GPS, digital compass,
3.5mm audio jack
Misc: Timescape UI, Infinite button, accelerometer for screen auto rotate,
FM radio with RDS,
TrackID music recognition
Battery: 1200 mAh Li-Po battery
Battery backup is not up to the mark (it gets discharged with in one day) - I do lot of surfing.. :-)
One important thing is the quality of the plastic is just like a china phone. sounds will come out of panel when I hold it or put it in the pouch.
company gives you 3 vibrant panels which is Ok..
Rear view of the phone.
The rear and sides are curvy. The curvature on the rear makes the loudspeaker audible even when the phone is placed on a table – neat plus for those who listen to music on loudspeaker with their phones kept on a table. The front of the phone is simple, yet attractive.
A slimmer bezel would be more appealing, and prevents the display from being an attention hog. The ambient light sensor and status activity sensor flank the earpiece. The rather oblong, cut out in the facia also houses a neatly integrated battery indicator.
We love the look of the three, curved, co-joined chrome buttons below the display, but it must be said – these buttons are hard and being thin, are uncomfortable to your finger pads.
Price is around 13800 in Bangalore.
Actual CONS
Better phones available for the price.
Camera lacks a flash and autofocus.
On-screen QWERTY is cramped.
I will come back with more things...
Keep rocking...
