I was looking for a new phone for some time nw....I bought this phone in march after a lot of research...had gone through a lot of phones....after shortlisting it to 3 phones....Nokia N73 music edition, Sony Ericsson K750i (which is virtually of the same price) and W830i, I went for d 830i, n let me tell u..I really feel proud of this phone...Visual AppealThe phone looks gr8 with a very nice smooth finish..the black n gray color mix gives it a neat look..also the back of the slider, which is a reflective finish adds to the visual appeal of the phone.The Keypad is well built...the keys r well placed, though the Walkman key in front is a bit problamatic..it gets pressed while tryin to move ard in the menu.The back could have done better with a lens cover for the camera. The speaker is stylishly placed on the back side of the phone.The Screen is 262k colors....very clear....*
Features**The phone is loaded with hell lot features. It is a EDGE enabled version of the 850i (tat's y I don't understand the need for releasing tat phone in India)It's got everythin one can ask for....From infrared to Bluetooth....from a T2 input dict......to voice dialling....n a lot more..
Imaging
The Camera is a 2mp camera. The Images taken at full resolution have got gr8 clarity, though zoom is available, it can only be used on a smaller resolution (VGA mode)...the 2mp mode doesn't allow use of the zoom...the max. resolution is 16001200It comes with a night light/flash, which I must say is very powerful...but the images aren't tat clear...it's got burst mode n some other features also...The video recording is not impressive...it's a 3gp recording....which is not justifiable with a 2mp camera...could have better done with a mpeg recording...the resolution is *320240*...SoundBeing a Walkman phone, it stands up to it's reputation of giving excellent sound quality...the loudspeaker is also clear but it's not really loud..
The bundled earphones r amazing....the *MEGA BASS *is rockin...gives gr8 music...Also since this phone has d new (2.0) version of the music player...with album art....it's also got a light effects option, which when turned on makes d lights on front go with d music....BatteryThe battery life is really gr8...whether you use it for talking or for music or fm....one can be rest assured of a long life....For instance, I used it for ard 10 hrs for music n 2hrs for fm while on d move n even after tat I had over 40% battery remaming...Final VerdictThis is a gr8 phone which has got d looks n features both pooled in together in a perfect blend...If you ignore the Video Recording, it has got no other cons as to me !!!Love this phone !!
