Hi,me again since being had great time ,both good and bad..with my w800i,i thought I will write this..first of all the features are exactly the same as w800i...just quickly check it out .go through reviews on w800i 1]screen size and resolution same for both(heard somebody claiming of a bigger screen ?sorry yes..by 1 mm) 2]brightness of screen slightly increased in w 810i....( at the expense of battery life,expect a slight decrease, its just a bit..not to b of much concern!also has a unique feature -can adjust brightness and keypad back lighting according to surrounding light conditions ,isn't it cool?) 3]memory...(same 512 MB card...(memory stick pro duo )..but internal memory reduced from 38 MB of w800i to mere 22 mb.......always per MB cost for Sony Ericsson is higher than other brands..so think carefully....but price have been slashed!now..512mb~~1600rs only) 4]stand by time & talk time( marginally lower than w 800i..) 5]looks....! I think the major warm up....it looks too hot in that combination of black and orange.....(but just as with I pods there may be people who die for the UNIQUE color scheme of w800i....but personally I will get one for me,too cool..) 6]edge....(a '+' for those techies who want to carry the world with them..but wait till INDIA ,sets all for edge supported networks..will b there in six months or even before that....it has to b future ready...) 7]quad band(w 800i....being triband had probs with some network operators like cingular in U.S ,not heard anything like that in INDIA...) 8]price...(price of w800i has been slashed by ~5500Rs in 3 months.... ,soon to b replaced by CHEAPER sibling 'w700i'...dirty marketing technique borrowed from NOKIAs....by pouring 'old wine in new bottle'...too bad Sony! that means if u wait a bit definitely price will fall,boz of this sort of ''marketing'') 9]FM radio....heard some rumors that w810i has no radio...(in reality it has the same FM radio as that of w800i/k750i) 10]one big issue is LACK OF LENS COVER(true...no lens cover for w810i....for w800i ,u need to simply slide lens cover,which will make the camera ON... but u have to b bit more careful,thats all(i have experienced same with k700i,lens will get dirty,greasy and dusty!,if u dare to b careless!!) some thing else is also in the pipe line...W700i.......placed lower than w810i and w800i......but for me w810i, look better than both ... 'w700i 'coloured in titanium gold..features almost same as w800i ,but memory stick pro duo card is of 256mb,no auto-focus for 2mp camera..its becoz Sony will gradually stop producing w800i and k750i..for sure..beware of SONY ERICSSON'S ''NEW MARKETING'',can expect same models with different shells,SO JUST WAIT<WHAT IS PRICEY NOW WILL BECOME OBSOLETE IN FEW MONTHS(u can have brand new w800i for just 16000 with bills for some more time...b fore she is gone for ever...DONT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY!) also if you need more to know few more things a]external speaker volume is a bit lower than that of w800i b]display is much brighter,more eyecandy with ''active''icons,and unique ''automatic brightness and backlit adjuster!.......but when it come to graphic capabilities lower to both k750i and w800i...need proof?check out for the 3d benchmark results!it seems to be just a software issue,since w810i uses a different java platform ...this may rectified in coming versions?BUT IT IS NOT THAT OBVIOUS! c]it would have been better if they provided qvga display,as seen with upcoming models of samsung etc.... so in short a]need not upgrade from w800i,but w750i users may think....since its not meant to be a music phone.....{no,its not sufficient even if u buy 512mb card,bcoz software has got changes,still u can flash ur phone to that of w800i..err not to that of w810i,i already told u,no?} b]new buyers go for it.....its a show stunner....nokia's, u will never make it .....it may b quatitatively better....but when it comes to quality...nokia will fell over its nose...

it seems that sony ericsson has done a complete revamp of w800i in w810i,(and these r the very reasons why I bought w810i in exchange for my w800i!!!) 1)its the best display I ever saw in any sony phone,especially the three unique themes,which u cannot just install in any other models,as they are built in ,and u cant just even delete them(w550i also use the same theme PLATFORM....but will not work in THAT either!)...really one good reason for my shifting to this phone ...see it for ur self and decide!!.. 2)music palying capabilities smoothened...
3)i love to use dpad instead of joy stick...less maintenance needed..4)finally for me its better looking than w800...5)the BIG BIG reason?....sony has just stopped producing w800i...am afraid abt availability of parts in case of any repair(i had to change the L.E.D of w800i in just 4 months time)
three more points ...just for clarification..1)since it's screen is much brighter(automatic light sensors do the job well according to surrounding light conditions)...it consumes a bit moreof battery!!!
2)may b just to save battery...w810i,has NO STADBY CLOCK(I HAD THAT IN MY k700and w800i,was really useful!)....when not in use sreen becomes pitch black....BUT you can know time by pressing on either of the two side buttons....3)one last thing......the side pause/play button is active only when u use earphone/...other wise pressing the same will show u the standb y clock!..................<<<<<<SOME TIPS>>>> >>> 1.if ur not using gprs/edge [which is shown on the screen by a letter E just above the signal 'bar', ]just switch to gps only mode in the connectivity options...this can save ur battery a bit!2)try to keep ur phone always in some pouch,remember u dont have a lens cover..u may land with a blurred pic of one of those rare moments!..3)make it a practice to charge your battery full,before first time use....also instead of charging "now and then"..let the battery drain FULL,then charge(at least once in a week)..even though, modern Li polymer batteries don't need this,still it can revitalize battery circuits and bring more life.. 4)its good if you can switch off and on your phone every day...exact reason not clear ,read in sony ericssons ' manuel!!!!! 5)WATER splash..!!?dont worry ,switch your phone immediately and remove battery ,keep your phone in a dry place..wait for 1 or 2 days...now its all set for action again...
