its 3 months since I got w 800i and overall satisfactory. but value for money--????? I paid rs.18500/- and feel a bit let down by sony. atleast after the bad experience at the authorised service center.
at bangalore Salora gives the authorised service and believe me, these guys are a nightmare. they operate in a typical government office style with loads of attitude.
Initially, my shutter for the camera was not working properly. I took it to these guys. they tell me that we would replace that .but will take time. No concrete time given. they ask me to check through the next 2 weeks overphone when the stocks would arrive.
over the next 4 weeks, these guys simply keep telling me come 2 days later, 3 days later whenever I speak to them if I can come over.
Finally, after much effort I was given an appointment. When I turned up that day, there was around 9 customers with complaints and believe me, 8 of them had serious problems with the after sale service. One guy whose charger was not working was asked to come 3 times before it would be repaired. He could have got himself a new charger instead of spending on fuel for coming 3 times.
It was then that I realised that my case was far better.
Worse still, these guys have peculiar working hours. open at 10.30 am and shut shop at 5.30 pm
no working on sundays.
If u got a problem in ur phone, u need to take 1/2 day leave from your office. yes, these guys make you wait there atleast for 2 hours before you get the opportunity to meet them.
Coming to my case, this guy now takes the phone, examines it and then tells me that it will take 2 days to get it repaired. I told this guy that this phone was already examined by one of his staff and he felt that it needs to be replaced.
For this that guy, then goes inside, then comes and tells me that no replacement is allowed for this and he will work on it.
So I left t he phone with them.
2 days later, I go to pick up my phone, and find that it still has the same problem.
I ask him what is to be done now. this guy gives a cool reply, leave the phone again for 2 days sir, I will get it checked.
I was infuriated, but did not show my temper. did not want to leave the phone again. took the phone back and stay with the same problem.
