W200i is the basic model from Sony Ericsson in its 'Walkman series'.Despite a basic model, it looks like a high tech multimedia set. It is indeed a value for money for people who cannot afford laxury mobiles.
I'm using my W200i for the last 2 years.So far, I'm satisfied with its performance. It still looks great & is in good shape except for a few scratches on the display, which is unavoidable for any mobile & for any any user.
This phone comes in the walkman series.Its music player is just incomparable.What which held me from changing this phone is its music clarity.Even after 2 years, it ROCKZ . It has the built in 'walkman' player which is the trademark of Sony Ericsson. It includes a 'mega bass' feature in its equalizer. This phones comes with a head set in which on the ear piece, its written 'Bass REFLEX'.I have used head phones of other Sony Ericsson (non walkman) sets. I felt that the 'Bass reflex' headphones had a more clear & refined vioce. This definitely implies that a new technology have been applied on the head phones. Its head phone clarity is incomparable even to Nokia N73. My friend uses N73 & he tells dat my phone got a better head phone clarity. But its loud speaker quality is not up to the mark.
This phone has a VGA camera. Though it is a VGA, I think its pictures have a definite edge over other VGA cam pics. Video recording facility is also available.This phone has an awesome web browser. Its is so simple & effortless to handle webpages. It is a truley great GPRS set. There are two built-in software in the entertainment section :- Music DJ & Photo DJ. Through Music DJ, we can unleash the Beathoven within us. We can compose tunes according to our wish.Photo DJ provides options to edit, resize & adjust photos.
The most important thing I liked in this mobile is its messaging facility. It is easy n simple in operation. Inbox can hold about 200 messages at a time. Emailing options are also available. Also, there's an FM Radio which can make our leisure times enjoyable. Its File managing is awesome. It is one of the best of its kind. Different folders are available for pictures, videos, sounds, themes, webpages, games& applications. Its memory is expandable upto 1 GB. Files can be easily transferred from the PC to memory card using the USB cable.
InfraRed port is another important facility in this phone to transfer files from one phone to another. The major drawback of this mobile is that it lacks Bluetooth facility. Its body is plastic with soft touch keys.
I bought my W200i for Rs 3500/-. Certainly, this is a common man's mobile. It is useful for all sorts of people.Despite a basic model, it worth a lot. It satisfies people who cannot afford luxurious mobiles. It is truly a value for money.
