Small Wonder!. Review on Sony Ericsson T610

This cell is a real small wonder.

Well my dad purchased this phone about a month back. After observing its performance and usability for a month I have come to the conclusion that Sony Ericson has got it right this time.

Ergonomics & Looks

This cell is really small for the functions it carries out. The buttons are well placed and I personally feel that it should have had a soft touch keypad. The joystick in the centre is really good and useful. It is fun using it for games. The LCD is well protected from abuse by means of a thick plastic screen over it.

The buttons are well placed and are space-saving and the only downside is that they are placed very close together.

This baby looks nice and cute. It is extremely compact and a good looking one. Silver looks good but I prefer Red or Blue.

Functionality

Finally the most important thing. The integrated camera requires a lot of light to take good photos. The picture library in the phone has many pictures. I could take and transfer pictures to our notebook PC through infrared with no hassles. It synchronizes the address book with the laptop or PDA or Desktop(This requires one to purchase a data-cable).

The bluetooth functionality is said to be good ( I havent tried it out yet). The battery can hold a lot of juice. This is the most long-lasting cellphone battery I have come across yet. There are a whole lot of other features like downloadable games and ringtones and it has all the functionality of a PDA. The operating system or GUI is very easy to learn but at times it is heavy and slow. The memory can hold many pictures and the CD with it contains all the image editing software. Unfortunately one cannot take video clips. See all the features of this stunner on the Sony Ericsson website. The signal reception is not that good. It is GPRS enabled though our network provider hasnt yet started it. The LCD flickers slightly sometimes. The voice quality is fair but not excellent.

Price Factor

The price is around Rs.21,000 which is a fair price I would say because what you get is more than what you pay. It is a good buy and once you buy it you need not buy another cell for the next few years!!! Its future proof.
