I recently purchased a Blade Grey T230 after exchanging my Nokia 8250. Just to tell you, the Steel Blue version of the T230 is a bit hard to find, and only old stock of it can be found. You can identify old stock T230's if their keypad is ONLY in English. If is's multilingual ( Hindi And English), it is a new piece. Anyways, I'm planning to change my keypad to an all english one soon.

Back to the Phone. It is very compact at 101.5mm43.5mm19mm. And at 79g, it weighs less than by 8250 ( at 1gram at that ;), and very good looking, that is why I chose it over a Samsung C100 ( though personal tastes may vary). It is really feature packed with GPRS, Ringtone Recorder, Picture Phonebook, Colour Display and Nice Morphun Games. The keys are a bit hard to get used to, so try it before you buy one. Esp people with thick fingers may find navigating the keypad difficult. Also, at 4096 colours, it is just at par in this segment. The Samsung X100 and C100 sport 65000 colour displays.

But this phone also scores on some very nice features like the melody/voice recorder, which lets you record your favourite song and use it as ringtone. Very nice, esp since other polyphonic ones have only music, this one records sound as well, and its FREE to record! Also, the sonyericsson website has a lot of support for it, and you can download more Morphun games, ot themes or wallpapers from it. Much better than paying Rs. 10 for a ringtone or Rs 50 for a java game. The sad part it, It does not support java, so you cannot download java games in it.

But, at Rs. 5700-6000 (prices may vary according to the shops) it is a great deal. Much better than the Siemens A60 which retails at Rs5300-5700. But, if you are looking for a better colour display, I suggest that you take a look at the Samsung C100, which is Rs. 600 more, or the X100, which is about Rs. 1000+ more, the Nokia 3100 is over this price range, at about Rs. 7200+.

So a very nice deal if you are looking for a budget colour display phone. Only next time, I wish Sony Ericsson has the T240/250? with a 65000 colour display! :)
