Got my T230 about a month back and after 30 days I am a completely satisfied user. This phone is first up cheap which makes it very attractive, but then u take a step back cause it aint Nokia. Well thats a mistake the T230 gives u all the features but without taxing your wallet.
Lets see what are the notable features....
Color LCD screen with 4096 colors... nice
In built event organiser that lets you syncro on the run
Mophum game engine - this is great more than 60 games available by Mophun. The mophunengine itself should be commended , its a stable platform that doesnt occupy too much space consedering the sheer quality and detail of the games
4 way joy pad with centre click: a joy pad on my cell
Magnetically shielded: yup doesnt cause those wierd lines on the comp monitor when kept near it
Great battery back-up :I charge it once in 2 days for 3 hrs.... and I use my cell a lot
Cable connectivity: YES.. belive it or not this baby can be hooked up to your PC! (i'll explain in detail later)
Additional feel good frills:calculator, stop watch and timer.
Text messaging with std outlook express type folders..(sent items unsent eveything) cool
Idle time screen
Ultra light (79g) and super compact
super light charger... really its like an empty plastic shell
Its got everything ur Nokia has except for Java support but it makes up for that with the Mophun engine.
Cons:
Hard key-pad takes some getting used to
Keypad not adequately back-lit
Resolution is better than most phones in the same category but could have been better
Support is baaaaaaaaaad.
Slow processing
Obex is disabled ie no sending stuff from cell to comp (except messages and contacts)
To hook up your T230 to ur comp do this:
get urself a Proific USB cale for the T600 series (about 350 bucks)
Install the prolific 2303 driver plug in the cable (to the comp) and allow windows to detect and install the cable next download the float mobile agent (do a google search)
Check your device manager, com ports and see the com port no assigned to the prolific usb-serial cable. (if u have 2 com ports then it should be COM 3)
install the FMA and go to options, under the communications tab (I think) select baud rate as 9600 and selelct the COM no as per the prev step plug in your T230 and select connect in FMA (floats mobile agent)
TA DA the phone is connected and ready to go.
Go to action and select upload , then select the file u want to upload (midi ringtone, wallpaper, mohun game etc) once done you will get a message saying check cell for instructions , and indeed ur cell will ask you to press a key to receive the file.
The T230 automatically places the file in the appropriate folder and ur good to go.
If you get a message saying 'OBEX is already in use' when u try to upload, don't worry just switch ur cell off and then switch is back on, disconnect FMA then reconnect thats it (if required restart FMA).
In conclusion this is a great phone real value for money
