To start with let me say it is a cool mobile, but not without few negative points.
Let me tell you I have this mobile from last 14 months, so I do know in and out of this mobile, some of them not even mentioned in the manual. (That time I bought it for 7000/-!!!)
The specs in short: Cost-4500/- approx, 4096 color display, MMS support, Voice recorder. Dual-band support!
Pros
Navigation: Oh! this cell phone has so many shortcuts to navigate.
Excellent visibility of the keypad and the screen in dark
Very good hand grip. Not like Samsung C100 which feels like a TV remote :-). The dimensions and weight is nicely balanced.
Pretty sturdy. I have dropped my cell phone couple of times. Tough as a rock :-) I have seen 2-3 nokia phones opening up in front of my eyes as soon as they drop.
Battery life is good. Easily 2 days, unless you play games the whole day on it.
Lots of memory Space. I have downloaded lot of stuff. Recorded couple of things. Pretty sufficient…
External looks. Good aesthetics. The Sony-ericsson marble on the back side looks really stylish
For SMS, u have T9 support, multilingual support, Long SMS. 5 languages supported, none of them of Indian origin!
Voice recorder: Do use this effectively. Can record friend’s small pep talks :-) Record custom alarms.
The best part for any sony ericsson mobile is LOTS OF ONLINE CONTENT to be downloaded. In case u do not have GPRS activated. Please do get it activated for just 4-5 days (would cost u 15-20 Rs). I have downloaded, GOLF, Tic-tac-toe, Alien scum. These are all great games to download. Oh yes, loads of WALLPAPERS, POLYPHONIC ring tones, THEMES. ALL THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!
Cons
KEYPAD is the biggest let down. If you do a lot of SMSing u would definitely crave for a Nokia keypad. The tactile response of keys is pretty bad.
The visibility of the keypad and the screen is very bad in bright light!
Cannot define your own shortcuts which can be done in Sony T610
No provision for profiles
There is a limitation to the volume of max sound. Deaf ppl who are used to Nokia phones may find its sound a bit limiting!
No Tri-band support. So, if u travel abroad often, u may not opt for this one.
