I currently own a k700i phone and I saw the description of this mobile in a magazine I read its review and decide to visit a

SE dealer in Pune at laxmi road to check out its features and how it looked, the dealer had only one piece left to sell as he

told me it was surprisingly turning out to be a fast selling item, he was not interested in giving the phone to me for

exploring its features, still I managed to get myself familiar with the handset.

Since I had never used any SE handset before k700i I always expected it to be much better than k700i and surely it is a

worthwhile upgrade, as the screen size is a bit bigger as compared to k700i and you a get a full black body handset, which I

always craved for. The biggest plus point for me in this handset was the 2.0 MP camera with a shutter feature and extendable

memory, as I always found the only thing that was missing in my k700i was the extendable memory. The handset comes along with

a battery, charger, manual, USB cable, 64 MB memory card, with inbuilt memory of 34 MB, stereo headset and Software CD. The

keys of the phone are well laid out and were a bit similar to the layout of k700i, so I did not find it difficult navigating

through the handset, and the joystick is sturdy enough could have being made a bit flexible as I found moving the joystick

bit hard compared to k700i’s joystick. The screen size is of 176 x 220 pixels with 262k (TFT) colour screen, the display is

amazing, the keypad is having a white backlight and the USB cable provided along with the phone is also a plus for those who

do not have Bluetooth or infrared ports for data transfer on their pc’s well I have a Bluetooth dongle on my pc so USB cable

was of no need to me.

The memory card can be inserted from left side on lower portion of the phone, it has a rubber shutter protection, which is a

bit annoying for me as if some one pulls it off hard, it may come off. This handset supports up to 4GB of memory, but I would

be happy with a Sony memory stick of up to 1 GB. One can work on other applications with ease while listening to Mp3 player

or radio, the only difference I found in terms of processing power of the phone was it hung twice while I was operating it,

which is not the case with k700i, The overall menu and software of the phone is similar to k700i and the phonebook has a

capacity of 2000 numbers, whoa that’s too much to store, I think 500 is a decent count that one could go for, well there is

also a direct key on the handset to play the music player or radio and stop it also from there in case you may not want to go

again and again in the handset menu and access the music player or radio

This handset also supports mail client for POP3 and SMTP messaging, it does have GPRS connectivity but still lacks the ‘EDGE’

advantage; I found other features mostly which were present in k700i like java games, mp3 tones, true tones, polyphonic tone

support, organizer, file manager, calling list, MMS feature good collection of wallpapers, now we come down to the USP of

this phone, the 2.0 MP camera

The camera feature of this phone is well built and the most important thing I loved about this phone is that the camera is

protected by a shutter as my camera in k700i is getting exposed to all kinds of damages everyday as I don’t even get a cover

for my k700i I have to get it laminated, The camera pictures I saw in camera were already taken by some other people who must

have tested the phone I did not try experimenting too much as the dealer was already giving me an eye , thinking what was I

up to !

The pictures taken horizontally with this phone they looked crisp and clear enough, the best thing to have is the auto focus

feature in this phone so it ensures that even if you are in a vehicle and trying to grab a frame the picture results would be

quite good comparable to a digicam’s picture quality, the phone also has automatic camera off facility to turn off camera if

left idle for sometime, the camera also has other features of adjusting image contrast, white balance, adding frames, burst

mode shooting, backlight activation also the phone has 4x zoom feature which I have in k700i too but the quality of picture

was very good taken at 4x zoom in k750i as compared to my k700i camera. In all this phone is surely on my wish list as I

handed over the phone to the dealer in despair as I was feeling that I was getting carried away with the phone features as

the price currently at that store he quoted was 19,000 bucks, I am also awaiting to have a look at w800 phone from SE which

is an outright walkman phone, but I would surely recommend this phone for the one’s who have missed k700i can directly go for

k750i.
