Hi Friends,
I m new to Mouthshut and writing my first review, so excuse
me for any mistakes.
Although I m not a Sony Ericsson fan, but after a lot of research work I
decided to go for Sony Ericsson because of its well known sound quality and
very good color resolution. Since I wanted a cell phone which should have a
good MP3 player and a decent camera, and also not too much expensive.
After my research on net I struck between Nokia EM 5310, Nokia N-72, and Sony Ericsson
K550i.
Of all the three the SE K550i seems to have
the best look and feel. It was so slim and light and very attractive.
After using it for more than two months, here I m writing my own experience
about it.
First of all, this phone is very beautiful, magnetically attractive, full of
features and cause of envy for your friends.
The phone comes in three color variants Black, Silver and Ruby. Mine is Ruby.
Black is very common, and was not able to get silver so opted for ruby. As far
as looks goes this phone is a piece of art. From the first day it bagged everyone’s
attention at my office. The buttons are placed just the way u like it to be. On
pressing any button the blue LED lights up and the phone shines in its full
glory. Each and every button or letter is easily visible. A 4-way navigation
key is provided for menu navigation. The keypad is quite innovative but will be
a pain for SMS Junkies. People with thick fingers will definitely hate this.
The phone has nice looking menu and navigating through it is easy. NOKIA users
needs time to get used to it. The phone has a bunch of features that u can
expect from a phone in this price category.
PROS:-
The audio quality is awesome. The provided headphones are of
good quality. Sometimes it feels like u r listening to an iPod. The music
player is categorized as Now Playing,
Artists, Tracks, Playlists. Speaker
quality of the phone is also very good.
Camera quality is also great especially at daylight. Pics
taken during daylight are of very good quality. Since for a Cyber-Shot phone.
it is much needed. The lens cover is good and keeps the lens safe from
scratch.
Other Features includes PlayNowTM, Picture Blog,
HP Print, Fast Internet etc. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, Infrared and USB.
The package includes a three pin phone charger, a USB data cable,
a software driver CD, a headphone and Manuals.
For USB connectivity u r not required to install any driver,
just plug in ur phone with ur
PC through DATA cable and ur
phone is detected as a USB Drive.Charging is optimized and very fast.
CONS:-
1) The
keypad is cramped and lags feedback.
2) Camera
quality is bad for lowlight conditions and with no night-mode, is worst to
expect.
3) Bundled
earphones have very short life. Already
changed them twice.
4) Camera
button on the side sometimes feels nonresponsive.
5) Call
dropping and Signal strength will also irritates u sometimes.
6) Battery life is not very good. Using multimedia features will
eat up the battery very quickly.
All in all this mobile is a steal in this price range. Guys looking for a mobile with all the required specs( with a bit quality compromise) must go for it. Others can go for higher models like SE K750i or Nokia N-80, but u have to pay more.
