I would like to bring to your notice the problem faced with my Sony DSC T300 Camera.  I purchased this camera in June 2008 in Singapore for almost Rs. 20000.  It has been used very rarely since purchase.  The camera started having vibration when switched on recently.  The vibration also spoils the picture quality.

I took it to the nearest Sony Service Centre at Karam Pura, New Delhi. They informed that the lens needs to be replaced which will cost me Rs. 4750 plus service charges of Rs. 500.  This is a too steep price considering the costs of digital cameras now-a-days. You can buy a good digital camera for 5000 these days.

When I searched on Internet about this issue, I have come to know that this issue seems to be like a factory defect as too many people have faced this issue with their Sony DSC T300 and other T-Series Cameras.

Pls see the comments on the following youtube videos wherein there are evidence of many people facing the same issue:

if you search for "sony cybershot vibrate, " you'll find that this issue impacts a significant number of people. The problem appears to start after one or two years of easy use of the Cybershot camera.

Sony has accepted that they had factory defect of vibration in T20 model and they are repairing it without charge.

I have the same problem with the DSC-T300 model, Its obviously a factory defect then why should I pay for getting it fixed.
