Bought this camera last Month in Doha for QR1279(almost~=$350). This camera has many features found in handy cams or expensive cameras Even though it is still camera. Touch screen and menu driven function are very fascinating.
As it has wide screen LCD display Movie recording can be easily done at the spot that is focused. Excellent Quality pictures and super Sony product
If some one needs to know more about this camera they can continue to read further.
Shape: it is a tiny one and is easy to hold on in one hand or keep in the packet. The Box/ case looks like a metal but it is not so. Only the holding stripe is metal. Mine is silver color. It appears rugged type. Feel of consciously touching it
1.Front side(lens side): Only sliding lens cover. Camera is powered up when the lens cover is sliding down.
There are three distance selection(3M, 5M, 7M)for focusing spot and this is to be done with touch screen operation. I observed that the picture was distracted when distance was mismatched with object. Probably auto program will adjust to correct picture
2.Rear side
It is a wide LCD display. Menu driven operations are on the screen.
There are different operations we can do like
Top Left: Home, Bottom Left: Menu,Bottom Right. Display setup.
Top right: **Back
*Once any one of above three(home/menu/display) is selected this back option will be seen available.
3. Bottom Side
There is a small compartment that accommodates memory stick as well as battery. It is marked as Lithium ion on the closure opening and closing is simple There is a single port with HD connector that is for USB/TV interface

*Power switch: just press gently to power up the camera. Lens cover need not be opened. Alarm is displayed on LCD as lens cover is closed. Press again the same switch to power off the camera. Touch screen operation is active the moment power is on. Then, we can change setting, as we like
Play switch: this will help to view photos already taken. Play symbol is printed on it. Battery: rechargeable, separate charger with LED. Full charge will complete approximately one hour., LED will go off once charging is full
There is a tiny plastic sliding switch bearing open close direction on the closure that is opened with spring action when sliding switch is moved to open end. Just press the closure and slide the switch to close end.
Accessibility: Inserting Battery is simple as arrow mark made on it and also upside down insertion is not possible. It is sitting on one side. Once it is inserted there will be a click sound.
Ejection is also simple by simply pressing the blue guide as arrow indicated on it.
Memory stick: it is not known why it is called stick. Its insertion/ejection is simple by pushing it in like in many of cell phones.
Zoom switch: it is thumb wheel switch movable into five positions to zoom in/out. When we zoom in it occupies more memory space. This will affect us to upload pictures to web sites if size is restricted.
Special Features
1.Timer set: there are 3 options 1 .off(immediate shoot) 2. 3 seconds delay shoot 3. 10 seconds delay shoot
Options: we can set for single shot as well as multi shots(6times)
Under multi shoot mode it shoots picture 6 times .all are the same but little differences are observed on each.
2.Photo Option: normal or image(negative)….
3.Slide show with music
4.Picture motion browser/ utility s/w helps us to minimize the picture size. ie the size 10 times less of its original size.
5.Movie recording… just goes to stand by if do anything else and recording will continue when we want to do so.
