Hi all
My first review and I hope its not a tirade against Sony CMD J70. I bought this set on a whim about 4 months ago putting my trusted Nokia 3310 (bad battery back up) away into the cupboard.
First impression, stylish, sleek and trendy with a jog dial. But for a person who is on a constant usage, a tad difficult. Ringtones are o.k o.k, but the volumes could have been more, cannot hear it over the music in pubs, customizable ringtones, well they need not have been there, tried my level best to record the latest of a.r.rehman for airtel, no way, too much of external noises, maybe a microphone input would have done the trick. Messaging is real good with predictive inputs. Cannot send numbers as business cards. A big drawback. Not compatible with the text of Nokia. Good battery backup though and sturdy to a certain extent, but cannot beat the Nokia which fell down from a height of 12 feet on hard rock and still managed to be intact and in great workin condition
This is not one for the constant mobile user, a must for teenagers, would have been great to see multiple face plates as well as colours to these
Jog dial seems to be the highlight and helps in easy access for all menus.
Grouping in the phone book is present. Groups present for boyfriend, girlfriend and a dozen other things, skiing, bowling, parties etc, no idea where it would be used, but then what the heck its real trendy to look
The start up and shut down sounds make people turn their eyes towards you and the best one I liked was the hourly chime. I set it up and in the meeting, all heads where looking at each other to find out where the noise came from. Alarm is pretty week and will never wake me up. Also, it does not have a ring+vibra mode like the Nokia vibrate first. Defenitely not the one for any working people
Hope this was not a belittling review
cheers
