Some of the most memorable memories of sibling fights I share with my younger brother were of fights which happened over control of TV remote. No wonder, it was since then that I aspired for a TV for exclusive use. Believe me, I have the feeling of a czar having remote in my hands and surfing channels manically.
Well, I satiated my desire to own a TV by gifting myself a Sony LCD 26". Budget was not a constraint while making decision for buying a 26". The constraints was small living space in the bed room (91/2 FEET * 7 FEET).
I saw more value of my money in 26" rather than a large screen because most of the large screen size LCD were HD (High Definition). It will be another 4-5 years before we can imagine HD signals uninterrupted, hence even though you have a HD television, if signals are not HD, the picture quality is all same. Further, I live alone in my flat and TV was not for family/group watching but individual pleasure.
The model under consideration has 3 HDMI ports for connectivity with HDMI devices (camera, xboxs, laptops...), 3 pairs of AVI and is equipped with Surround Sound technology by Sony. Between Sony and second best choice-Samsung, I found Sony superior on sound, video quality between Sony and Samsung is not very stark (because uptill now Sony was using lcd screens made by Samsung).
Weighing 10 kgs, the LCD has speakers fitted below screen elegantly. Product looks are killer (in positive way) and features are unmatched. How ever the model under discussion is value for money if you are buying it for individual viewing and not group viewing/family viewing. Also, you can consider it as your second TV in your personal room.
The screen size gives you a good feeling in a small bed room but if in a large living room, the screen size may not be as lucrative deal.
