This series of Snappy Happy by Shobha De is about Sandhya who is a 14 year old girl whose life is no less than a rollermcoaster ride. She fights with her younger sister Pia and if it is her fault or not she only gets the scolding and her strict parents don’t even allow her to apply red nail polish, sleeping at odd hours, wearing tight clothes, talking to strangers and many more. She has a massive crush on Akshi. And the most awful thing is that secret she is hiding from everyone, even from her best friend Asavari.
A huge hurdle comes in Sandhya’s life when on the same day there is a pooja at home and a social at school too. Then only Sandhya decides to make a plan that she would call the pujari and tell him that the dates for the pooja are postponed and she would tell the opposite to her parents that the pujari has told that the dates are changed for the pooja. She was lucky that her grandparents went on a holiday and without them the pooja could not take place. So Sandhya could go to the social at the school.
Sandhya was afraid that if she reveals her secret her parents will start hating her. But it didn’t happen. Instead her parents gave her support and told her not to repeat the mistake. This book teaches us that by scolding a child one wont improve her but would spoil her more. This book tells the story of every girl.
