I had a very bad experience with my first buy in Snapdeal.!
About shipment and delivery dates:
I have booked an item on 22 June and expected delivery was on 27th June. I waited till 29th June and Snapdeal didn't even have the courtesy to send an email or message saying shipment is going to be late! Upon calling and sending the mail several times, I got only one answer, 'Your shipment will be delivered within 24 hours'! Finally item was delivered on 4th July, after two weeks.! I read some one mentioned, delivery charge will be waived off if you buy item worth more than Rs. 299. But I paid of item worth Rs. 300 and Rs. 199, still Snapdeal took Rs. 40 each as delivery charge and delivered me after 2 weeks.! A blunder.!
About packaging and status updates
There is another item I booked recently and it suppose it should reach me tomorrow(8 July), when I go to track shipment and check, it's still in Delhi itself, even 4 days after booking. Snapdeal website shows 'In Process' and no proper status update of status like 'In transit', reach blah blah city, etc etc.!
And about the packing, the way Flipkart and Myntra even for that matter, Jabong.com, they do good packing.!(I am a premium customer in all these sites) Snapdeal puts in some paper and put some Spandeal printed tapes. Very bad way of packaging the item.!
About Cancelling and Customer support.!
There is no option to cancel the order after it is shipped.! If your order is prepaid and this great shipment reached after 2 weeks and you don't want the item, there is no way to cancel it. If you call they say don't accept the shipment. This courier people come at midnight and delivered it to my office address and they don't even call and tell me.
A very badly built online shopping site with no morals.!
