Disclaimer: You should read this post entirely to understand what motivated a lazy person like me to draft such a lengthy novel describing my experience with Snapdeal.


Snapdeal: I have ordered 40k worth products from this site (approx 50% of my e commerce orders) during last 3 months or so, I was happy with this site until what is happening from last 1-1.5 month or so.


One thing be sure my observation is their tele executives who are primary points of contact are worst you will find in e commerce business, not only they are ill informed, they don't have any idea about reasons for dispatch delays, reason why your money is still not refunded etc. and mind you if you write any mail to their useless mail id (help@snapdeal.com) the software will copy paste some pre- formated reply that looks very funny and makes you angry at the same time, since it reflects no one has bothered to understand your query.


I will list my orders numbers and problems which I have faced with this site, you will all varieties that you can imagine with an Ecommerce website in following list!


Major problem faced:


1.Order No.1442977791- Ordered 2 packs of health drink from them, they sent different pack and different flavor- they asked me to return product, did that, got refund for only 1 pack (half amount) on 2nd December. Today its 14 December no trace of refund for second pack- mail sent at-least 10 times, called them at-least 5 times for this issue no one is willing to provide resolution- they keep on murmuring that full money has been refunded- yeah one of their executive gave me some RRN number when I insisted and asked to follow from my bank! wow now they are ordering me to do a task that has been forced because of their lackluster attitude- the same executive escalated me to one of his senior (Rajiv Rana) who said RRN number should not have been given to me and its a mistake from their execu customers! and now if even you have an iota of intelligence you will never trust them again.


You can refer clearly to the training they have imparted to their executives- the executives who are ONLY point of contact for their-his desperate mail below which I have sent to care@snapdeal.com (useless customer support id doesn't serves any purpose, only copy and paste replies of pre-defined formats) today to get my hard earned money back into my wallet!


"This issue is pertaining to complaint numbers 4108187 and 4108185 (?338 each was to be refunded back for each complaint number to my BOB account Number xxxxxxxxx)


Issue is non return of payment for canceled order no. 1442977791 (2 packs of Moms Best health drink) – this order was canceled because wrong product was delivered(chocolate flavor health drink was delivered against vanilla flavor that was ordered)- as there were 2 suborders I was asked to return them separately in separate couriers which I promptly did the same day and sent scanned copies of courier- Courier money has been refunded as Snapdeal cash so no issues there.


HOWEVER ?676 that I paid for this order (which includes 2 suborders of ?338 each) have not been refunded till date I am writing this mail, only half the amount (?338) have been refunded, proof of which is attached with this mail in form of my bank statement from which payment was done for this order- refer to entry on 2nd December in attached statement.


Attached is my bank statement (15 November 2013- 13 December 2013) as was asked by Snapdeal before. (refer attached outlook mail file which consists of mails exchanged before for complaint number 4108185)


From what it looks money has been returned for only one complain no. either 4108185 or 4108187 in my bank account- your team however repeatedly says that entire money has been refunded to me and clearly bank statement shows otherwise as only ?338 have been refunded instead of ?676 that was paid for this order.


I hope I will get to know the reasons for delay as to why only half payment has been reversed by coming Monday (16 December 2013) as conveyed & promised to me by your executive Mr Rajiv Rana today via call as he said finance team will be available only on Monday which I assume is correct. Please note I have called repeatedly 4-5 times for same problem and written numerous mails already.


I hope Snapdeal takes this issue with priority, also provide me relevant proof that complete payment (? 676) has been sent in form of transaction reference number which could be checked from my bank’s end to find out why only half payment (? 338) is reflecting in my account.

2.Order 1485343021- Order (health drink) estimated delivery date 10 December 2013, called them today (13 December 2013)- they have no clue when this order will be dispatched- no one knows what is happening- I got a call from seller of this product (18 herbs) the gentleman asked me not to order this product from Snapdeal!


If they don't want to sell this from Snapdeal why the hell it is listed over there?- Now Snapdeal is not willing to cancel this delayed shipment- same product available at different site (told to me by seller) at 25% discount! but cant buy because Snapdeal is not willing to cancel- their marketing hogwash "Trust pay" says if product is not delivered within 3 working days from estimated dispatch date it will be canceled- even if this is canceled now I am nervous if the money will ever be returned to my account or not!


3.Order 1464698629- I canceled this order because they again were not dispatching it within time lines.


4.Order 1431698303- Order consisted of few books, again one of the books went out of stock, money refunded- OMG thanks for it! Rather thanks for wasting my time.


5.Order 1387556063- First they wasted time as original seller got out of stock! Order was for brown camera (Coolpix S9500)- second seller called and said he don't have brown camera in stock!- He sent silver since he left no choice and I cant get color of my choice even after spending 16k


In a nutshell, I faced some problems (major/ minor mix) in approx 30-40% orders which I have given to snapdeal.com- my advice to them is cheap is not end of day, I will never order costly product from Snapdeal ever again because if it gets canceled( due to delay/ wrong product delivery/ any other reason) you can never be sure that money will be refunded in stipulated time lines! As I already said ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK NO REFUND GUARANTEE.


I will give them few more chances and if any of my order is flukes in future, I wont shop from this site ever again- My experience from Jabong customer care is extremely good (only 4 orders so cant be very sure but still) even Myntra customer care is polite and effective.
