I ordered a Winter Jacket from Snapdeal on the 5th of Jan(Order ID: 296992040). Promised delivery as per their website is 7 days. I waited for 7 days but order was never shipped. Called their customer service on the 7th day and the rep who attended the call was not at all apologetic with the fact that they have missed their promised delivery and instead of assuring me he was more interested to wrap up the call.


I waited for another 7 days and called back and this time the rep informed me that Snapdeal does not have any control over the order and its vendors responsibility to update the shipping details. I was completely taken aback by his reply and he said he cannot commit when the product will be shipped. After waiting for the order for more than 14 days the rep had the audacity to tell me that they cannot commit on date of shipment. I also tried to get in touch with them on facebook but as usual they committed to get back to me with order status but that never happened.


Today on the 20th day of placing the order I got a reply from Snapdeal that they have cancelled my order since they do not have stock and requested me to treat this as an exception. they kept me in dark for more than 20 days and now they want me to treat this an an exception since they cannot honor their deal. They also offered me an apology coupon of 200 SD credited to my account. I Checked my account few mins and and it does not show any credit. It's not that I'm interested in their coupon but its to let everyone know what promises mean to Snapdeal.


I have been shopping online for more than 2 years and this is the worst customer service by any E commerce website.

Hi Sumesh, we can understand that this must be very frustrating and no words of ours can express our apologies and soothen you.
Due to unexpected number of transactions, the product got sold out. We really tried to retrieve the product and on not being able to do so, we had to cancel your order. We know it was wrong on our part to cancel your product after 20 days and we are really very sorry for that. We are working on expanding our inventory to meet our customer's demand and will make sure that these kind of problems don't occur in the near future. Also we just checked with our system and the SD cash has been credited to your account. Please accept our apologies.
