It was an absolute blast when a couple of us decided to head out in true sports fan style to 1 of the good sports restobar in Bangalore. Me and my friend had been there a few times before and had gotten along with the guys there. Usually we would end up paying around Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 for a couple of starters and a pitcher and couple of breezers.
But this time my friend who was to pay for the bill this time only paid Rs 1000 for our entire meal. This completely surprised me and on coaxing he revealed that he had purchased a voucher from one of the online discount deals site Snapdeal.
This didnt sit well with me or my friends who had treated him to expensive meals and as someone who relies on seeing is believing mantra and not a fool to go for online schemes and claims. Later I did check back on the site and discovered more cool deals. I guess I do have to thank my friend here for showing me how it all works and made me see that it's all not that bad.
But my friend did warn me here to be careful of which sites to use and how helpful their customer support is. Snapdeal, he said sits comfortably in a better position than similar other websites. Some other points to note are to check back with the merchant and book in advance for reservations. Another point to take into consideration was that we knew the guys at the restobar which didnt ruin the service levels since we were regulars.
I would say that as a concept and as an experience it was good. Now it's my turn to try something and am hoping it will be as delightful as it was for my friend and all of us.
