I had bitter experiences with many India based online shopping sites. It is with some trepidation that I bought my first purchase- ESCADA ABSOLUTELY ME perfume online from their site. This product is the latest from Escada( released in August 2010).
I paid for it Online through Net banking on 1st January, 2011. On 3rd January, I just sent an inquiry e-mail to Snap Deal. They promptly replied to it the same day, informing me that my order has been sent to the vendor and it will reach me within 7/8 days time. On 5th January, they sent me an e-mail confirmation of shipping the item from Delhi through Blue Dart and on 7th the product was delivered to me here in Calicut, Kerala. This is remarkable, a product ordered online on 1st January and sent from Delhi reached Calicut, the Southern end of India within 7 days.
This is commendable service as far as an India based online shopping site is concerned. But the real surprise is its pricing. This product was offered by Snap Deal for Rs 2295/- and while I checked its online sale price with another reputed perfume dealer, I find that they sell it at Rs 3025/-. A real bargain!
My experience with Snap Deal taught me to check the prices of products offered online by different sellers and go for the best pricing. Most often you find the best pricing is offered by Snap Deal. If a product is sold out they show it as'Sold Out' at the site. That is also a good practice, so that customers money is not actually blocked on a products not immediately available for shipment.
Now they have proved that it is not merely the prices, but the service delivery and product quality also is taken care by them. I got the original perfume itself in factory packaging( This is no duplicate stuff) and the price difference is nearly Rs 1, 000 on a bottle of 75 ml perfume! Woh how much the customer is overcharged by some reputed sellers! Please do check the prices at SNAP DEAL before you decide to buy from any other website.
If you have any bad experience, I suggest you to take up with the company, they are very responsive as shown by their replies to few complaints raised at the https://mouthshut.com site.
On my first purchase, I think the vendor who supplied the goods and the courier agency who delivered it( Blue Dart) also deserves credit for the speed and efficiency with which it was executed.
