I should have checked mouthshut before trusting this site with my money. I would have avoided getting into this mess.


I ordered a Samsung mobile phone S239( Samsung M Power TV-S239-Metallic Silver), order no 511948191 Placed On: 2012-04-16 08:39:35. I paid them through netbanking.


The original delivery was promised by 23/4/12. Just a few days before 23/4, I got an SMS and email that the date had been delayed to 26/4. Again, just before 26/4, I got a mail & SMS that it had been further delayed to 29/4. That's when I replied to their customer service that I want to cancel the order and want my money back. They sent a vague reply which meant nothing.


I waited till the end of 29/4(yesterday) in the hope that it will be despatched. No news. Today, 30/4/12, I called their cust service. According to their call centre guy, Mr Santish, they do have stock, and the consignment will be sent most probably by 6.30pm today.


Let's hope for the best. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.


Update: They did not send it on 30/4 or 1/5. On 1/5/12, I called their customer service and told the guy I would like to cancel the order. The guy agreed quite readily, maybe because he was aware that I had put the matter up on mouthshut.com


He told me the reversal of the money would take 7-21 days! I told him this was ridiculous as my payment to them took a few seconds, there was no reason why the reverse should take so long! I also mentioned that I had read all the negative reports about them on mouthshut.com.


This had a miraculous effect on him, and he immediately agreed to reverse the charges by 7-10 days! How the time lag came down by 11 days, I have no idea!


On 2/5/12, I checked my mail to find a cancellation mail from snapdeal, and another one from the payment gateway mentioning a transaction no. by which my money would be returned by 7 days, depending on my bank's response. Why would a bank's response be needed to return money I do not know.


Anyway, around 10pm on 2/5/12, I got a  SMS from my bank saying that the money had been credited to my a/c.


NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH SNAPDEAL AGAIN. I hope readers will also stay away after reading this.
