Wrong product & no refund of money at snapdeal

I am sharing my painful experience at snapdeal to caution about the risk of buying from snapdeal. I ordered for a Canon Powershot A3300 Is for Rs 5500.


I paid the money through my credit card. After a week, I received a parcel. Very eagerly I opened it. But was shocked to see a much older model inside that(A3100IS).


Next minute I called snapdeal CC and reported them this.


They told me to take a photo shot of the received camera and upload it in their site. I did so. Next day I got the return pick up by delivery courier.


They took one week to return it to snapdeal. On 13.12.2014 the product was received by them and the status in  my login changed to refund under process. But even after a week, the refund is not even initiated. I had called them several times and mailed them many times, but I just get the same reply " we are working on that".


I am unable to understand how could they delay the refund for a week particularly when they had sent me the wrong product.


Today I called again and insisted the cus care executive to transfer my call to their supervisor. She initially refused, but I was adamant to speak to the supervisor.


Finally my call was transferred to someone who claimed himself as a supervisor. I explained him everything.


He said that he will forward your issue to the back-end. Even though there is no guarantee on the refund, I at least  have little hope that something will happen.


But I am determined that IN MY LIFE, I WILL NOT EVEN BUY A SAFETY PIN FROM SNAPDEAL. I have had very good experiences with flipkart and amazon. They are genuine in their business.


Snapdeal is not such a company. You may be lucky for 10 times in getting proper deliveries, but one day you will find yourself in my situation.


So guys I kindly request you to think 100 times before ordering at snapdeal even if their price is cheaper than others. If at all you wanna order something, opt for COD which is relatively safe.


This is my honest review based on my own experience. I have no personal motive to tarnish snapdeal. I have all the proofs to justify every detail that I had presented above.


UPDATE ON 22/12/2014


Finally I have received an intimation from snapdeal that my order is accepted for cancellation and the refund of my money is initiated. I feel relieved.


But that does not change my opinion about snapdeal. The mental stress that I had gone through in the last 15 days is really hard to forget.


I feel that the good thing I did in this case is that I insisted on speaking to a supervisor and did speak him.


That really made a difference, otherwise I would have been simply making calls endlessly. Try this if you are also caught in a similar situation with snapdeal.
