I have bought Yeti 4x4 top end model after lot of research about cars available in Indian market. Previously I owned a WagonR. Yeti is feature rich but surprisingly hasn't been popular in Indian market. May be it is because of its high price. People think that if they are spending above 15 lacs, they should get a big car (show-off). But don't realize that while on the road, bigger the size, the maneuverability of the vehicle becomes difficult and to achieve better control, the car maker has to put the effort and equipment - which makes the SUV car so expensive. I have driven Safari, Xylo, XUV. Innova has lesser features and in the NCR region, it is a Taxi and anyone would give you a hand for a paid ride. But Yeti is beyond comparison. It is a luxury with long lasting sturdiness.
Yeti is not for a big family, only 5 persons can sit comfortably. Lot of luggage space in its back.
What I Like in Yeti: Suspension of this car is long lasting, Grip on the road is very nice, even on rough roads, its 4x4 feature is a great one, good ground clearance, 6 airbags safety, Corner light is very important and helpful feature - when you take start taking it turn, additional headlight light glows towards that turn and you can see towards that dark side. Even if it is a diesel car, the cabin noise is negligible. The mileage is 18 kmpl on highway (if you drive with care). The disk brakes on all wheels give great control to the driver. This car needs servicing after 15, 000 km compared to other cars who need maintenance at every 5000 km.
I think this car is for those who love to drive and adventure. I have done long trips to hills with bad roads in this car and I have had good experience with this car. The only bad is its high price. If you are seriously looking for a sturdy and comfortable car, you got to reach for it or else regret after spending on a cheap car.
